Possible a part from B-17, unknown stamps
    Hi friends,

we have got from our friend in France a piece from possibly B-17G 43-38161 from 100th BG that crashlaned there while returning from our area on 11 September 1944. This piece was held by a farmer and claimed to be mounted from from that particular B-17. I can't identify it. There are some stamps, unknown to me as well.

Lenght of that part is ca 18 cm.

    Any opinion will be appreciated!

    Thanks, Jan

    Hi Jan,

the colour stamps are inspectors stamps, no chance to identify this part on this way...
But it looks like a bracket from the power plant
Just searched in the part list, but havent found it...
This kind of parts, without a part number, are most parts from different manufacture and not from Boeing ect., so it could be a part from one of the turrets too...

    Regards
    Nils

Nils, the question is also - if these stamps looks like WWII and US aviation industry to you...

    Best regards, Jan

It´s very difficult, because we have no idea what kind of part it is from the B-17. Typical stamps from Boeing and other aircraft manufacturer can you find here:

I think it´s a part made by a supplier with his typical inspectors stamp

    Best regards
    Nils
