    Conquered planets
    Hi!

When playing the Borg - it happened that I ended up at a nice planet with natives and lots of minerals with one of my probes.
The problem is: I only had 1 clan left (no supplies).
I think I will lose the planet before I can be back.

My question: What will my enemy get?
All the money + natives (if there are any left) + my colonists???

If yes, I could decide to make everyone rioting.

Beside of the bird, there is no one who can make prisoners from your drones! Everything else will go to the enemy. But on a planet with large amount of natives, it must be a really heavy ground assault!

sorry, thought that i was in area VP4. of course your colonists will be killed, when a ship will kill your planet. When a LDSF beams colonists down, normal ground combat will take place.
If you had enough time for assimilating, even the Lizard can´t beat you in ground combat!

Hmmmm, all those nice Colonists dead?
And all the money taken by some tiny Swift Heart?

    I don't like that imagination.

But it doesn't matter: In the end all Birdmen will be assimilated.

That´s the reason, why you should always put 10 Clans and 5 Supplies onboard of a Probe. Planets without Natives just drop one clan for listening post, otherwise 1clan and 1 supplies.

I can see the point...
But I'm already learning as you can see at Spacecraft Portal (All Standard V).
Not too bad for the first game that I'm trying to play seriously!?

Maybe the Borg are too hard a race to play for a newbie - but nothing is impossible.

    Hope you like that game!

Ask Alex as often u can ... He will help. He loves the Borgs !

In vp3 I love the privs, even not a beginner race, too.

But you are right : " Nothing impossible " :-!

Through assimilation you will get lot´s of credits and with the one supplies you can build all the buildings you need in the next turns. Maybe in the later game, when coming to the border to your enemies, you will drop all the clans. Stay one turn beam the ten clans up and go to the next goal. This way you will save 4turns of assimilation.
But the most important thing is the taxing of the natives as a borg in VP3. You already know about decreasing happiness when you increase tax? Good! Now calculate the amount of turns you need to assimilate all natives on the planet. Divide this through the difference of the actual happines points and 40 happinesspoints. This will be the factor you can decrease the happiness every turn by taxing. When you are at the last turn before all natives are gone, you have reached 40 happiness points. This is the border where the natives will rioting and burning down the factories and mines.

Which client do you use for playing? VPA has a perfect borg calculator!

I will try that dropping of 10 clans and waiting 1 turn - as assimilition is not quick enough in certain situations...

I'm using Winplan (the version Erik suggested in his newsletter).

What is that VPA client you are talking about?

There are different opinions which client using for playing the turns. My combination is VPA with RandMax. Works perfect for me over lots of years.
VPA has several advantages against Winplan. The first and for me the most important is, that you have always one screen that you never leave. All things can be done from this screen. Lots of informations, all things can be undo. Many Markers fro using in the Map.
Almost every AddOn a host is using will be used und showed in the Map by VPA.
You have a Reportgenerator, where you can define you´re own reports for having the best overview over you´re economy.
It takes some time to learn the shortcuts, but after this you will do your turns in half of the time! In such a time expensive gameplay like the borg very helpful! That´s my experience with VPA.

Have a look in the download corner at this board. Try it and you will probably never use something other then VPA ;-)

Ask me if you need some help using VPA or RandMax. You will have first some work with the ini - files.

 Hey - thank you. I've always been angry about that WinPlan screen.
Everything that can save time is welcome (time is the worst problem for me).

So I'll try and see if that VPA/RandMax combination works for me in my x-mas holidays.

    Hi!

Seems that I've done well so far. See all Standard V...I'm still playing the Borg.

    There are more questions now...

    1) About battle orders: When there were multiple Cubes at the same location and FC's from 101 to 105...
    a) it happened that the 101 ship did the first 2 fights (until it's own destruction) then the 102 ship and so on...
    b) it happened that the 101 ship did the first fight, the 102 ship the second...
    (So the 101 ship survived.)

Maybe I'm wrong - it has been some turns ago. But it has struck my mind right now.

    2) Can Birdmen ships transfer fuel to a fuelless enemy starship in order to attack it? Of course they are not allied and don't know the enemy ship's FC.

    Greetings

    Thorin
