Smaller games with a higher host rate in the future?
(the Emperor Falcon comes into the bar room - just sitting down at the bar - facing to Locutus... then looking around... it is really quiet now... then he begins to speak) I've the feeling of more upcoming conquests and I have to tell you about my own thoughts.

I think about smaller games with more host runs in a week (also per day... hehehe). Just a nice thing for longer weekends or holidays at home (during the cold winter time).

    Host schedule:
Several host runs at the beginning of a game (same day). After turn #5/10 a lower host rate per day. After turn #20/30 one -or- two host runs per day until end. Short game (50-80 turns max.). Mo to Su per week possible, host runs beginning in the morning (and then every hour a host run) until late evening (maybe until midnight).

    What do you think?

Hmmm, agood thought, but i expect that the most players of VGAP independend of version 3 or 4 have family and are busy at work. Do you really think that there are so much students or schoolboys which have time for this?

    Imho :
Host run every day in the beginning is okay.
Until turn 20. After lets vote the players.

No I don't think that *all* people would have enough time for a small game with a high host rate.

The idea is: only a small group at special weekends (longer than 2 days) and/or over a short time (mostly holidays when the normal host is offline because many players make holidays etc.).

Just a suggestion... I saw other hosts doing the same in the past. So I've only the feeling to say that...

    What is the problem? :?:

I've only an idea - speaking out my thoughts. What is the problem? It has nothing to do with a 'small' overview... how many people go to school, has to work etc. etc. etc. Hmmmm...

Well, if a host site has not the desire of getting more active players... why the host should advertise games? With no clear vision it makes no real sense to create new games. So why should a host invest his time/money into a project like having a host site? Sense of life? Hmmm...

Well, don't let me be misunderstood. I only made a suggestion in this thread. Nothing more...

Ho, stop. I know i know, what your intention was. It seem to be that we are in such things very equal.
I don´t want to criticise your idea or thoughts. From my point of view more a sort of brainstorming, for making a real good and succesfully game.

I see the relationship beetween this board and you as a host, like this:

We help you to do your job for a long time as good as you already did it in the past. Our benefit is having if players come to our board, discussing their games, have a little rest in the pub, etc.

So go on with your thoughts and let us share the opinions.

I see... well, you understood my message. Also there should be no problem with critism - or let us better say: work-shop? Hmmm... I appreciate discussions, brainstorming etc.

Yoo, okay. When I will write my next message here in the pub I will offer more information.

(Emperor Falcon looks into his empty glass... 'was it soo late yesterday? Oh-oh...' )
