I´m sad to hear that actor Roy Scheider died today! He was 75 years old. I always liked to watch him and just saw him on TV last week.
My prayers are with his family! May he rest in peace!

It's always sad when a person dies. But he had cancer (correct me if I'm wrong) and I think it's better for him where he is now.
I fear I never watched any of his films... :?

I don´t think he had cancer - they were talking about that he died after complications with an infection he had ... (Komplikationen einer Staphylokokken-Infektion)

He had suffered from multiple myeloma for several years and died of complications from a staph infection.

oh how sad... I could not believe when I read it... I still cannot believe it... :(
He was one of my favourites, and gone now... :(
I just watched some films JUST because of HIM... He was a very good actor.
In almost every year the tv here shows the Jaws trilogy with Him, I always watch it if I could, just because of Him. He was funny and kind, so had a lot of fun during watching those films with my brother.
"you're gonna need a bigger boat" - one of favourite quotes :) makes me smile :)
So I hope he rests in peace now. As the Latin says:
sit tibi terra levis
He will be surely missed...
