With the recent attacks on YT, and the overbearing crowd of some long time members causing an uproar, it's nice to have a forum I can come to and know I'm going to encounter intelligent conversation and some friendly attitudes. I already feel like a member in good standing here, and the carefree environment has produced a surprising environment. It's like the elimination of so many rules produced an over all better product.
Thank you Sander for providing these forums.

YT is full of whingy bastards. I mean, I was attacked because instead of wasting hundreds of dollars on games, I burn them and get them basically free.

Thanks, ichabod, but I don't see what's so great about a forum where you're basically alone most of the time :-(
What's happening at YT, btw? Haven't been there for some time. Any new scandals or bannings?

Well, I know that I can talk about what I want here without catching a lot of crap.
As far as the status of YT, you may be familiar with some of the traditional threads, GMYT, Post a picture of your _____, Photo Thought Connection, and the ever popular Gossip Thread. Well, these have recently come under a lot of attack from some of the older members. Some of the people making some of those threads had made them to keep the needless hijacking and spam out of the more serious posts and discussions, but some felt that it was a little much when added together with the giant influx of newbies who are bored on summer break and making silly journals.
Well, some of the newbies felt that the Journal Forum moved way too fast for their angsty journals to get noticed, so they started posting them in Generals instead. Because of this, for two days straight, some of the fusinski crew and a few people who were mad at the mods decided to make GMYT threads all over the Journal Forum. These threads, instead of being the normal spammy conversation threads, were filled with nothing but mocking netspeak and that *hugs* *lick* crap. They did this so much that nearly everyone's journals for those two days were knocked completely off the forum, and it was filled with nothing but their spam.
Well, after two days of it, and numerous people complaining, including some older members, the mods gave them a final warning... not the kind that means if you screw up at all in the least you're banned, but the kind that said basically "if you do this to the Journal Forum again, you'll be banned.'
This caused a great uproar amongst the people who had done it, some attacked the mods enough to get banned, and then they made alters and came back to argue some more. Others kept saying stuff like "if other people can make GMYT threads, so can we, we shouldn't get a warning."
The story goes on and on, so to shorten it, let's just say YT has taken a major blow for those who normally come on and just hang out and participate in a lot of different conversations and discussions. There is a huge division, with fusinski's crew and some older members on one side, and the mods and everyone else on the other. No side is clearly right, and there are newbs and oldbies on both sides.
The maliscious fighting that went on for about a week has calmed down, but you can still feel the effects of what happened.
