I did really well on scratch off tickets so I bought a pool.
Its not really expensive or fancy but it will keep us cool.
The kids are pretty excited though, they even helped me rake the back yard so we have a clean spot to put it.
In the morning we will set it up, by evening we will be grillin' and chillin'.

So my daughter and I went out to rake up the twigs from last nights storm, and what do we find?
A big black wire ripped from the house laying right where we are putting the pool. It runs from the back of my house to the neighbors backyard somewhere. It can't be anything important because all our services are still working. It must be a phone line. We don't have a land line because we all have cells.
I was going to move it but decided to wait for my hubby to get home maybe he will know what it is.
Grrrrrrrr... I want to be splashing tonight dammit. :cry:

It might be a disused eletrical line, or something, I dunno what I'm talking about.
And splashing in a pool of water is pretty much the last thing on my mine at the moment.

Ahhh, well at least you founf out.
Just out of interest, why don't you have a landline? I'm not sure how it works over there, but, over here, landlines are cheaper than mobile phones.

If it wasn't for broadband I wouldn't have a landline either. I only make 4 phone calls a month on my landline.
I have a pay-as-you-go mobile phone, I top it up with €30 every 6 months so the credit doesn't expire. I make even less calls on that.
My braodband costs me €49 per month, including line rental.

I don't have a landline because my service was so crappy, I always had static or people telling me they tried to cal all day but my phone never rang :(
My cell phone is more reliable, and the same price. I pay $50.00 for unlimited anytime minutes, no roaming no long distance. :lol:

That's pretty good then, we don't get that kind athing over here, at least I don't think so. Mobiles generally cost alot more then home phones do.

Some 90ish % of the population over 10yoa have cell phones over here, and people are getting rid of their land line based systems at a rate that will render it obsolete in 5 years or so. Those who still feel they need an "old-fashioned" phone switch to IP-based systems.
