I thought it was gonna be a goer, but it's so quiet, and no one posts, and..well if even the sites namesake is too busy to post much, then what hope for the rest of us?

I dunno what went wrong. Lots of people complained about rules and regulations on YT and other sites, so I thought there would be a market for this. But it seems I was wrong... :(

There are something like 6 post a day, and that is not enough to attract interest. I guess maybe there's a minumum limit of activity that has to be reached before a site will start attracting people by its own momentum.

I used to post in almost every forum every day, but not getting replies kinda stops that..and no one starts new threads any more..
I'm not spending so much time online either, so I guess that might have something to do with it

I haven't found much time to contribute to the site myself... I spend most of my time at the funny farm, and most of the remaining time I'm with my daughter or my g/f.
But I was hoping that a site could live and prosper without the owner having to do the posting himself. YT does...

I made an honest effort at stirring up some talk the other day by posting a bunch of new topics and reviving old ones, but it didn't go far. I only have so much to talk about.
We have a good number of members, but as it was said, not many who post. Sometimes we get on and just don't see anything that interests us. It's the same at YT, I promise, but with so many members over there, it doesn't matter what you post, the chance of someone finding an interest in it is increased proportionately.
And lets face the sad/happy fact, this site is a sight more intelligent and there just aren't enough intelligent people to go around.
One problem may be that most of this site's following came directly from YT. For the majority, we are all people who were sorely addicted to YT, and a lot of the people who joined here won't give up any of their six hours on YT to spend an hour here posting.
It's hard enough for me to get people to come over to YT so I can speak to them there. I've managed to convince a few people from YT to come over here, but I don't see much from them.

Heh, maybe, Sander. If we had five hundred new topics thrown at us everytime we signed on, we might be encouraged to post more because some of them are bound to catch our attention.
Of course, you've got plenty of sections on this site where that's possible. Small Talk is like a version of Journals with a more accurate title. Attention Whoring is begging for spam.
Did anyone ever put up a link to here on Links over at YT? How about at I-am-bored?
And, I have the same problem as Lizzy. If I come on and do my posts and I'm the only one on, or no one responds within a few minutes, I leave. No reason to sit around hitting refresh.

I think a few people have put links to here on YT, I know I have about three times.
And you'd think with so many topiocs that it would at least interest some people to come back and keep posting.

I've sprinkled links around a few places...I think it just takes a bit of time for a site to get rolling. It seems that the initial burst of activity in response to its novelty is over, and the site has settled into its baseline. From here out I suspect change will come slowly.
I haven't been around for a fair while, but when I'm here I try to keep things going...I still see potential in the sandbox.
