You all know the theory that there are only 6 degrees of seperation between any two people on the planet.
Who can you link yourself to?
I can link myself to any world leader within 3 steps and to a number of actors & rock bands.
See who you can get.
An example:
My husband works for the Irish government & has met the Taoiseach (head guy of the country, pronounced tee-shock) in the restaurant.
Bertie (Mr. Taoiseach) has met just about everyworld leader at some point.

I can link myself to just about every female in the world in two steps, so beat that, I've met Shane Warne :P
My Pa was/is good friends with Jim Cairnes (sp), Ex-Prime Minister of Australia, and they were good freinds while he was elected, and even went to my grandparents house.
I can link myself to every politician in Australia, I've been to a 'party' at Julia Gillard's house, and she is now the shadow health minister.
And I've also met Barry Jones, another poli, and he knows alot of high powered people.
Merv Hughes' dad used to teach maths to me in grade 6, so I am connected to just about every international cricketer for the last 20 years.

My brother-in-law's brother is a stunt coordinator (was a stunt man), he was in Excalibur & coordinated Braveheart, to name two. There's me & hollwood.
My husband supported Anthrax & Queensryche

He supported Anthrax? Um... why?
I've met Josef Gutnikm who was the owner of the Melbourne footy team, so I am connected to all the AFL players.
And anyone Sammy knows, I am connected to them too :P

Anthrax were touring Ireland (yes people manage to tour a country with only 1 (ok 2) real cities) my husband's band were opening for them.

I was interviewed by the same talk show host who talked to Monica Lewinski.
So Monica is my level II contact. She in turn probably shook hands with President Clinton before they got more informal, and thus Bill Clinton is on level III.
BC probably met most world leaders in person, so these will all be on level IV.
Level V includes - among others - all the random people these world leaders have shaken hands with in the street during election campaigns or "spontaneous mass rallies" or any public activity that usually includes handshaking and baby kissing. These common people are on level VI.
And on level VII you find everybody that these people know, which, I suppose, constitute a not insignificant percentage of the world's population.
---
And this is only one of thousands of handshakes I've exchanged; each of them starting a new line...
Notice that even though I started with a media person, that is not neccessary, as it works both ways & you could just as well start from anyone who knows someone who knows someone who has shaken hands with the president/king/generalissimo or beloved Chairman, and still have two levels left for all those people your Leader has met...
---
Now the scary thing about this is that the same principle applies to, say, chicken flu or HIV... :(

Oh that's easy. My step-dad's an FBI guy. He links me to Colin Powell and Deep Throat. His father links me to MLK Jr. A couple of his friends, whom I met a little while ago, link me to Princess Di.

My brother met George Sr, so I guess that means I am linked to all the world leaders he's met.
