    Sausage rolls
This is a pretty simple one, simple yet effective.

    1kg Sausage mince.
    500g Mashed potato
    1 carrot
    1 egg
    Some milk
6 Sheets of puff pastry. (You can usually find these in the feezer section)

Boil the spuds of course, then mash them, but don't add milk or butter or anything, just plain mashed spuds.

    Grate the carrot.

Make an egg wash with the egg and the milk.

Combine the mince, carrot and the mashed spud.

Lay the mixture in a straight line across a sheet of pastry, then roll it up, but don't make the pastry meet yet, use the egg wash where the pastry would meet, helps it stick in the oven.

When you make one line, you cut it off from the sheet, you can usually get two lines per sheet of pastry.

When you've used all the mixture, or all the pastry, cut the rolls in half with the back of a butter knife, I dunno why that's important, but I do it, helps kinda seal the meat in.

Use the egg wash over the rolls to ive them a nice golden brown top.

Put them in a pre-heated oven of about 200 degrees celcius for half an hour.

You should get something that looks along the lines of this:

You can also substitute the mashed spud with bread crumbs, but that makes them kinda dry. You can also add herbs too, if you want something more herby.

It all sounds good except the carrots.
I don't see why they are in there. :?

Just to add some health to it :P You don't need them in there really...

I've also made some with carrot and very small diced celery, which sounds gross, but it seems to cancel out most of the grease.

I rather just eat them on the side and raw.
    I hate mushy cooked carrots.
I don't mind them if they are steamed and still crispy, but cooked so soft they are mushy, yuck.

...they don't go soft and mushy, you can't even really taste them, they're just there for filler, and for a little bit of health.

My dad blends them into his gravy, to sneak them in.. :P

I imagine if you grate them fine enough it would be the same thing.

I am going to try this one day.

The carrots are a sneaky way of getting kids to eat vegies, without knowing it

"if you can't buy mince, buy the snags and squeeze the insides out..."

You can do that, but I've done that, and it's far too much hassle.

I have to do that a lot , its hard to find just the mince unless you go to a meat market.

And I am sorry we have a billion flavors of sausage to choose from. :P

But it's not the sausage, it's just the sausage mince, it comes in a packaging that looks a little bit like the cookie dough packaging.
