I need a good pumpkin pie recipe
One made using real pumpkin, not canned, because I can't get canned here..

It sounds totally gross to me, but I told someone I'd try it..

Scoop out the innards of a pumpkin, cook it until it is all soft and mushy (add some water so it doesn't get all dried out), I do it by eye, just put it in a nice pick pan, turn the oven up to 450 and tass some water in the bottom

Make it all mushed up. Season to your taste Nutmeg, Cinnamon, ground ginger, vanilla, maybe some condensed milk,

Crust--I can't remember exatly, I think it is 2 cups of flour, and a quarter cup of oil...roll it out, put it in a pie pan, punch holes in it with a fork, pour the pumkin filling in

put it all together, bake at 350, until done

    I found this on allrecipes.com

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 sugar pumpkin
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
    2 eggs
1 cup packed light brown sugar
    1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DIRECTIONS:
Cut pumpkin in half and remove seeds. Place cut side down on a cookie sheet lined with lightly oiled aluminum foil. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the flesh is tender when poked with a fork. Cool until just warm. Scrape the pumpkin flesh from the peel. Either mash, or puree in small batches in a blender. Increase oven temperature to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C.)
In a large bowl, slightly beat eggs. Add brown sugar, flour, salt, 2 cups of the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and evaporated milk. Stir well after each addition.
Pour mixture into the unbaked pastry shell. Place a strip of aluminum foil around the edge of the crust to prevent over browning.
Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C), then reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake an additional 40 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Remove the strip of foil about 20 minutes before the pie is done so that the edge of the crust will be a light golden brown. Cool pie, and refrigerate overnight for best flavor.

it's kinda gross, but it is actually all that is in a can mix, which is why it is kinda silly for people to waste the time it takes to cook the pumpkin down. ALso you know you can order canned pumpkin online

It does sound disgusting, I would prefer a roast pumpkin sandwich. Which is almost like a pie....

Well you don't use cold congealed disgusting pumpkin, you use nice hot roasted pumpkins

I have never had hot pumpkin.
    How do you season it?

I like butternut or acron squash roasted with butter and cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.

Its not really congealed its like custard.

You don't season it at all, you just cut it up, and chuck it in the pan with your roast spuds and roast meat.

But if you really want to season it, give them a light covering of oil, and then a little bit of nutmeg.

they taste really different (Or so I think)

I had never eating non-pied pumpkin prior to coming here. When you don't turn it into a dessert it tastes more squashy...not bad...i had pumpkin potato and onion korean pancake things for lunch..mm mm good
