Where's my damn confirmation email, I've been waiting a whole 5 ish minutes :x
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
Sander - 23.05.2005, 14:01
If your confirmation mail does not turn up seconds after you've registered, it's usually due to one of two things:
- your e-mail program thought the mail was spam. Check your "spam" and "trash" folders, not just the inbox.
- If this is not the case, there were probably a typo when you gave your address. Notify me, and I will delete your screen name so you can try again.

Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 05.06.2005, 04:37
I think the one guest who is always there is just Sander making sure that the site always has at least one member online.
but I'm probably wrong, I'm just guessing.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
mwade123 - 05.06.2005, 04:38
Ok I will give you candy if you post.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
kshobson - 05.06.2005, 04:43
why would he care if there was nobody on here or not at all times?
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 05.06.2005, 04:45
I dunno, just speculating, but I find it hard to believe that there is always a guest here, and yet you never see a guest post.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
mwade123 - 05.06.2005, 04:47
That is a very good point ben.
it does sound suspicious.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
kshobson - 05.06.2005, 04:51
Well I guess but it still doesn't make any sense Sander would just be himself and stay as Sander I would assume.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 05.06.2005, 04:53
Not if he isnt at the computer, he wouldnt want people to think he is ignoring them, if he gets a PM.

I think you just like seeing conspiracy theories
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 05.06.2005, 04:57
I wouldnt exactly say that this is a conspiracy.

I've also wondered about the Mr Guest. He turns up in the surveilance program too (a prog that tells what every member is doing on the site right now, like "writing post", "browsing Sex forum"). He sometimes seem to use my IP address, so I suppose it's just a software glitch.
Then there are real guests, of course. The reason you don't see them post anything is simply that they can't. They can read most fora, but you have to be registered to post. In the first days of the site anyone could post, but I changed that.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
Electric - 05.06.2005, 10:48
Maybe some of the guests you see are people logged out.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 05.06.2005, 21:46
But there's a guest on 90% of the time. And the guest never posts.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
Kiomi - 06.06.2005, 00:35
Perhaps it's a glitch?
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 06.06.2005, 00:36
Or perhaps I'm right.
If Sander would post every now and then, he could tell us.

I commented on this on the first page!
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 06.06.2005, 01:19
Ah, sorry, I didnt see that, I always click on the view last post thingy, so it skippied your post and showed me electric's.
And since reading it, I'd say it's probably just a glitch as well, because the Guest moves around from forum to forum.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
Sander - 06.06.2005, 01:33
But while on the subject, there are two members who are just drones I use for betatesting when I make changes: They are Marivs and Fairy king. Their status can be "banned" one day and "Administrator" the next.
So we always have two members less than the stats summary says.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 06.06.2005, 01:36
Yeah, I think when I first came here I thanked marivs for something :P
What did you change earlier this morning? (Morning for me anyway) It said I couldnt access the database. I got that screen for at least an hour.

What's the point? :-P
Dad's already replaced our 6574 videos for DVD's...
It's one of the ones we keep at our holiday house anyway. We don't have a DVD player down there. :-)
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 06.06.2005, 06:12
What's the point? You mean, beside the fact that they are better?
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
Kiomi - 06.06.2005, 06:15
We are not paying for a 5th DVD player, of which we will only use for 5 weeks of the year. :?
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 06.06.2005, 06:17
Then take one from your house with you... I don't see how you could need 4 DVD players in the one house.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
d503 - 06.06.2005, 06:19
especially if you aren't at the house as you are on holiday
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
Kiomi - 06.06.2005, 06:19
Well, we have 5 TV's. :-)
And then pay for someone to connect and disconnect it?
I really don't think so.
We don't need a DVD of Fawlty Towers, okay?
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
d503 - 06.06.2005, 06:21
yes but dvd players aren't very big and can be detached from the televsion

You could always get a cheap DVD player. They're selling for about €40 these days. (That's about AU$10,000  )
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 07.06.2005, 12:08
We got a DVD/VCR combo for $50, which is about 20 pounds.

Yeah but Ben, she's 15, 15 year olds are not expected to have jobs.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 08.06.2005, 10:27
15 year olds should be able to match colours though.

Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
d503 - 08.06.2005, 15:36
I had a job at fifteen, and it isn't all tha uncommon
besides if she isn't working why doesn't she do the connecting deconnecting, i mean you got time to kill
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
jdpd - 08.06.2005, 15:43
Our setup at home is quite complicated
Living room:
TV
DVD player x 2
VCR
Satellite reciever x 2
Surround sound amp
ampliphier
CD player
turn table
RF sender/reciever
Bedroom:
tv
vcr
RF sender/reciever
To remove one item from that it quite hard as some of them are daisy chained.
At last count we had 15 remote controls. A friend stayed over one night & couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV the next morning.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
d503 - 08.06.2005, 16:09
But the question is can you disconnect it.
I am slightly annoyed by people who get things without knowing how to 1)cook it
2) hook it up
3) turn it on and off
4) care for it
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
jdpd - 08.06.2005, 16:14
Oh yeah, I can disconnect it, some of it I can't because I can't reach it safely (but that's what husbands are for  ). I'm just saying that IF I had a second home I'd rather buy a cheap DVD player than go to the trouble of disconnecting the one at home.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
d503 - 08.06.2005, 16:26
Ahh, I though you were saying that it makes sense to hire someone to do it...yes i would second the buy a cheap one and leave it there.
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
jdpd - 08.06.2005, 16:29
I couldn't imagine hiring someone to plug in an appliance.
My ex-boyfriends family used to hire poeple to put up their wall paper
Re: Psst...hey you...yeah you...Mr. Lurking Guest...
BenDaMan - 11.06.2005, 20:54
The only way I would hire a guy to plug in a DVD player would be ifit had 50 million cords, and the cords were labelled in ancient latin.
But that's a pretty sweet job. Kiomi, tell your family to hire me, I'm good at matching colours.
