Hallo Talon,
Typ gauge looks like as a undercarriage gouge from the right wing. type of plane unkown. Please make a larger photo also from the back site.

Nils,
i think this is more likely to be an aileron trim indicator. with the same function as the one posted by Denis, some time ago
http://www.iphpbb.com/board/ftopic-81805422nx79380-10.html
there would be a handle or wheel in the centre which is turned to alter the trim of the aircraft.
i think the landing gear would operate as a pair, not on one wing at a time.
i also think this will be from an American aircraft. British aircraft would have starboard wing. this part has "right wing". in the American way.
i have been looking at cockpit photos but not found this part yet
Regards
Roy

Ah, but dont forget, many parts were not unique to one particular make. Those trim handles may have been borrowed from another type.

Hello,
this part is pick up from a field in the area of Operation Varsity, so i think it´s from an Waco glider.
Merry christmas

Hi Talon,
i agree this looks like the same part. it would be the one marked, 4, in your photo. however the rivet holes are in the wrong place.
As Denis has said, the same parts could be used on more than one type of plane. Perhaps another type of glider?
Cheers
Roy
