Hi Joseph, first of all we'd like to thank you for this kind interview. It's always a great pleasure reading you on our website, where all Toto fans didn't forget you.
GGM - After "Vertigo 2" and "Two Of Us", albums that saw you protagonist in 2006, do you have other projects for the future?
Joseph- Yes! I am currently working on two follow up albums for "two of us"! They will be finished by beginning of the fall! After that I will do a new rock solo album for release sometime in 2008! It will hopefully include some surprise appearances from some of my brothers in TOTO as well my REAL brother, Mark T. Williams.
GGM - Recently you have had the possibility to step on the stage with Toto, after a long period of absence. Could you make us part of your emotions and feelings, being on the stage again with them, during the concert?
Joseph - Actually I have already sang 3 concerts with TOTO here in California. They were on June 7th, 8th, and 9th! It was amazing! I had a wonderful time…. To share the stage again with my good friends Steve Lukather and Bobby Kimball was a like a dream. I was very nervous at first but the band put me right at ease and the show came out great! I got to perform two of my songs from “The Seventh One” and My new part on “Bottom of your soul. I also shared vocals with Bobby on a few others! The crowd seemed to have fun. I know I did.
GGM - Toto are getting ready for the 30th Anniversary Tour. Will you be part of this world tour? Will we see you in every concert of the tour or only at some locations or in some concerts?
Joseph - That question is impossible to answer! I will be a part of what ever tour they want me too! We will have to wait and see.
GGM - Let's talk about your part in Toto's American "Falling In Between Tour". How this idea of taking part to it came up? Was there a kind of promise, made during album recording in 2005, between you and the band?
Joseph - No promises! They just asked me to participate and of course I said Yes. If the band will have me on more of their tour I will certainly consider it!
GGM - If we remember well last time you had a concert with Toto was during 20th Anniversary Tour, in 1998 at some European dates. What are, according to your opinion, the changes the band has gone through in these past ten years?
Joseph - Well, the biggest change since then is the addition of Greg Phillingains! He is an amazing talent, and fits perfectly with the rest of the band. And of course the excellent Tony Spinner. The band is tight and sounds great. Although I miss the presences of David Paich, the line up of TOTO members is terrific right now! Simon is the brain of the group. Luke, the heart, and Bobby the blood!
GGM - Falling In Between was presented by "Melodic Rock" in 2007 for the best album of the year. What do you think is the best album Toto ever recorded during their 30-years career?
Joseph - It is clear to most that TOTO IV is the most popular, and from my standpoint the greatest! Of course I feel very proud of “The Seventh One” and “Fahrenheit”. I think they rank among TOTO’s best! I am also very pleased with the newest album and proud to be a part of it!
GGM - Beside taking part at Toto's tour, will your fans have the possibility to enjoy some of your solo concerts?
Joseph - That’s a long shot, but anything’s possible!
GGM - Few evenings ago you had the possibility to play with two high talented musicman such as Greg and Sklar. How did you feel singing with them? Have you already had ways to cooperate with them?
Joseph - I have known and worked with both Greg and Lee many times in my career, so sharing the stage with them was very smooth and comfortable. The are brilliant musicians and great guys! I feel the addition of Greg to the band is an absolute blessing! And although it is always great to work with Sklar, I miss Mike Porcaro and pray for a speedy recovery.
GGM - Could you tell us some fun episode happened in the backstage during your recent apparition with Toto?
Joseph -In Los Angeles, while waiting for my cue to come on stage, I locked my self in the dressing room! I panicked for a minute but got my self-free and laughed about it after the show!
GGM - Wanna say something, a special greeting, for all your fans that, on the ggmstudios website, will read this interview?
Joseph - I would like to send a special thanks and greetings to the Fans. I hope to tour Europe with TOTO some time in the future and see them all soon! In the mean time I ask all the fans to tell a friend and family member to go out and see TOTO perform when thy are in your area….. Let’s support THE BEST BAND ON THE PLANET! Ich werde Teil jeder Tour sein, bei der sie mich haben wollen - ich sitze hier und warte, dass sie mich ansprechen ;)

Oh yeah! WAIT AND SEE.....wie ich diese 3 Worte mal gehasst habe!
Weil mein Vater viele Jahre in London gearbeitet hat, habe ich in den Sommerferien, die von der deutschen Schulbehörde stets verlängert wurden, eine englische Schule besucht.
Natürlich war ich damals als Kind wissbegierig hoch drei (ogott, ich glaub, ich bin immer noch eins..) Also hab ich gefragt, was das Zeugs hielt.
Wahrscheinlich habe ich den Unterricht damals kräftig gestört, denn immer bekam ich zur Antwort:
WAIT AND SEE :grin:

Kann mich nur noch mit Toto-CDs beruhigen, die ich fast den ganzen Tag in den Ohren hängen hab....schlimm.
Nur mein biblisches Alter hält mich davon ab, auch noch mit MP3 Player durch die Stadt....
Naja! Bin froh, dass ich mit DER Macke wenigstens nicht allein auf der Welt bin.
