I do need to shead a few pounds around the middle before the trip :? I'm also going to get in the tanning bed starting in last Sept so I'll have a nice tan for out there.

We had an electrical storm last night - there was so much lightening and thunder but just a few drops of rain. I turned off my laptop and this am my clock was flashing so we must have lost power at some point during the night. I do not like electrical storms because everything is so dry those can start fires.

    newnativspirit - 13.08.2007, 09:00

Yes, it will be and about loosing weight: Iīm just gonna take some oversized shirts with me ... LOL

Re: AIFF - American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco !!!

    enelya06 - 13.08.2007, 12:20

I will probably shead a few pounds but oversize shirts are going with me too. Will be leaving shortly for work - Keri and I always follow each other out more or less since we have to go that way and we end up at sister beans coffee house. It's hard to believe she's in her last year of high school.

Maybe we can all go together next year.
Finally, Iam feeling lot better now. I have had problems with my ears for a few days. I had got infection in booth of them. That was not nice!!
The medicine I got from the doctor have helped. :)

Re: AIFF - American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco !!!

    enelya06 - 18.08.2007, 23:39

that would be nice if more could go. Keri and two of her friends are at the Trace Atkins concert tonight at the fair. She didn't get to go see Rascal Flatts this year because she was in Maui. They hit all the concerts when the can (country that is)

i've got the weather channel on and we're keeping a close eye on Dean. Even though it won't hit us, depending on how it comes up the gulf we could see some much needed rain. My neighbor cut our grass today and it was like a dust bowl everyones grass is so brown and dying...too why it is everything but weeds dies.

Thanks for the link!! Under the link for list of films, there is a PSA listed for Native Wind. Click on it and there is Eddie.

I also reviewed the list, and found two movies that Eric Schweig was in the past year or two, and one with Wes Studi. I know from Eric's site that he doesn't do award shows that often- but maybe this is one he will attend. Would be great to see who all shows up that we are familiar with. Also, this seems like the type of place where they showcase new talent as well as seasoned veterans.

I've very excited for you Anne and Nancy- have an absolute wonderful time!!

thanks for the well wishes mouse - we will have a great time regardless of who is there. I'll probably not get any sleep the 6th since I have to be at the airport at 4 am

Re: AIFF - American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco !!!

    public service announcement

a non-commercial advertisement typically on radio or television, to raise awareness about specific issues ... in this case about climate change

Okay so I was jealous that you ladies are going just because you are going and it will be fantastic and I hear such good things about San Fran - BUT now I'm SUPER jealous.

They have announced their opening night and closing night films and guess what is closing the event - yep - you guessed it - "Imprint". Aaaahhhhh I am DYING to see this film.

AIFI Announce the opening and closing night films for the 32nd annual American Indian Film Festival

Here's a little blurb from the link above:

Quote: On Friday, Nov. 9 the American Indian Film Festival will close with the World Premiere of the documentary Making the River and the feature film Imprint.

Imprint, directed by Michael Linn, tells the story of Shayla Stonefeather (Tonantzin Carmelo), a prominent Native American attorney who has turned away from her people and the dreams of her youth. When she returns to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation of South Dakota, her ancestral home, ghostly apparitions begin to haunt her with a frightening vision she does not want to believe.

As Michael hasn't been able to attend any of the premiere's or film festivals for "Imprint", maybe he'll be able to attend this one.

yes - it will be nice to experience some warm weather again lol. They still have not got to our building to turn on the heat.

I've got to go back to the eye doctor this morning. I may need a stronger antibacterical medicine for my eye. I had a problem a few weeks ago with a knot - well he gave me some drops but it's swelling again - mainly during the night - you can't see it and my eye looks normal - it's just building under the lower lid. Not painful but bothersome.

that doen't sound very comfortable. Somehow I had to think of the autistic boy on one episode of Dr. House who had tiny worms swimming inside his eyeball. that was nasty.

We've had e-coli going around over in Indiana and several have been hospitalized with it. they've done so many recalls on so many different things I don't eat meat, lettece, or spinch anymore.

I still have to pack my suitecase  I've some laundry to do and once that is done I'll be all set.

I pray Emma gets to feeling better real soon and that she's not go anything serious.

I'll keep you posted on the trip. since I don't leave till Wed am - I'll be on line here and there till Tuesday night when I have to take my laptop down and pack it.

Re: AIFF - American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco !!!

    enelya06 - 05.11.2007, 04:16

She's on her way just left for the airport. I talked with her for a while via phone this afternoon then on-line tonight.

Emma told her she'd be better tomorrow. She should arrive in the US at around 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (know it's already Monday over there). I will be going to Frisco with eye drops, my eye has not improved much so if it doesn't when I get back I guess they'll try and figure out what is wrong...they think its viral but it's not sore nor is it contagious.

I have to work at JCP on Tuesday night but that's ok. I have to be at the airport here by 4:30 a.m. Wed morning.

Going to do my aerobics and dry some clothes. Will be talking to you all later.

Re: AIFF - American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco !!!

ah cool. thanks for informing us^^. Hope Emma will be alright. Even if it is a stomach flu her body will be very weakened. I*ll cross everything i can to wish her luck

We have had some scandals about scruffy meat over here. But without e-coli.

Re: AIFF - American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco !!!

    enelya06 - 06.11.2007, 02:01

Just talked to Anne and Nadja. She arrived ok. Had to fill out some papers with customs and immigration so that took her a little while. But she is fine. Also said Emma was doing much better when she called home.

I've got color on my hair and will start packing my suite case finally. Sort of waited till the last minute so that I could get all my laundry done of what I'm taking. Won't be at work tomorrow because I'm off till the 13th course have to work JCP tomorrow night...but that will keep me calm. I doubt I'll sleep much tomorrow night since I have to be up at 2 to get ready to go to the airport.

Have some things to do but wanted to let you know she made it ok.

Live from San Francisco - it's the Three Stooges show.

We made it here around noon very smooth flight and have a very bumpy ride up and down hills - to our destination. It's very cold here in the Bay area - we went to Johnny Rockets for lunch/dinner and are now back in the the hotel room....waiting for the earthquake  We are going to watch some movie and sort of "chill".

Already Michael Smith he said hi and see ya later. He was heading out the door somewhere. Other than that we are waiting for the stars to arrive.

We have no photos as of yet but promise some are on their way. We have already met quit few characters on the streets.

    We are signing off now.

Greetings from the SF! it's been a good day Anne fussed at Michael Spears - yes Michale we were standing outside when he came in and as he got to the door the poster fell, Anne said "it wasn't me" and before Michael could say anything Anne started fussing at him  She was fussing because he never contacted her and he said "hugh" and he talked to us for a bit and said we'd have to "hang" ,,,out.

Michael Smith is the man who is in charge of the American Indiana Film Festival and he's very nice. Micheal Linn the director of Imprint was extremely nice as was Chris Eyre. We also shared a taxi with Carla Ray and Michea's mother. They are super guys we had a good time.

Anne, Nadia and myself walked 2.4 miles to the Palace - it was a cool day not freezing.

We are tired have a busy weekend planned - such as partying with Michael Spears and the others.

We are signing off right now. Love to everyone - please don't count on us for tomorrow night as we will be busy

Thanks for the updates ladies. :D You rock!

Bummer about missing "Four Sheets" - dying to see that myself. What else did you see?

Anne, that's great news that you'll get some one-on-one time with Michael, could lead to great things (business wise I mean...).

Have a great time tonight - "special guests" - that's fantastic. Ditto on Mela's email.

Can't wait to hear about it - don't forget we want to read your reviews of the film too (not just the gossip about who you met - making us jealous).

Although I'm a little more jealous about the weather than anything else right now - it's so gross here in Toronto.

I'm with you Anne - I'm wondering how they'll like the CDs - I'm sure they will love them. Hopefully there will be artists on there that are new to them and that they enjoy.

    Well Good morning Ladies

We're just now getting in  went to dinner with Mike Linn, Michael Spears Chris Rye and Tonantzin and a few others. Michael was touched by the CD and said he'd be sure to give Eddie's to him. Also he is very insterested in NNS and wants to work with Anne....it was wonderful she finally got to have some one-on-one time with him. He is a nice fella and a lot of fun to be around. We have been special guest of the Linn's and have been having a wonderful time.

The screening of Imprint was awsome, it is a wonderful movie and we were all sitting together. I can't wait for it to hit the big screen and you all can see it. Tomorrow night is the awards show and then post party. Don't know when we'll be on line because we have to leave out on Sunday morning and we don't know what time we'll get back to the hotel. We will keep you updated on events.

Fantastic! Sound like a bunch of great people - the Linns and co. Excellent to hear that Anne got some one-on-one time with Michael and that he got the CDs.

Have a great time tonight - sounds like it's going to be a great show (some very cool performers are scheduled to perform).

Can't wait to see any photos you ladies took (scenery photos too!).

Hope everyone has a safe journey home.

sorry to tell you that we didn't get to take any good pics yet. We are supposed to take official pics of the crew and cast of Imprint today, but this is a weird place: you never know what will happen next!

Chris took a few pics last night - but these will stay private  sorry!

We are trying to take pictures of the show tonight! Promise! Don't think we'll take some at the After show party ... but we'll try

First thing today will be the lunch for special guests and we'll be in there; then the Awards show tonight ...

we'll keep you updated - don't worry

    Coolio. Thanks for that Anne.

I'll be 100% honest, I'm a bit stunned that "Imprint" won for Best Film - I thought for sure "Four Sheets" would have won it.
