Es gibt offenbar Unterschiede in den Jagdmethoden in Grönland und Kanada:
COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) - April 30, 2004 Fearing that renewed protests against seal hunting in Canada could become a serious problem for Greenland, the Inuit government stressed Friday that Greenlanders do not kill baby seals, saying the pups don't live on the world's largest island.
"Harp seals live here but they don't even breed here," said Amalie Jessen of Greenland's department for fisheries and hunting. "They do it in Canada and on the ice floes that our hunters' boats can't reach."
"A resurfacing of the anti-seal skin campaign or campaigns against seal products as a whole would be a very serious case for Greenland, both economically, socially and politically," the government said in a statement, adding that "Greenland doesn't kill seal pups."
