Pathfinder - 06.06.2007, 18:20Unknown fuel cap
Hi all,
found this round cap of aluminium in red colour;
diameter: 90mm
Markings inside:
SIZE 3
MIL-C-72443
TYPE II CLASS
SANTA ANITA ENCR CO
PASADENA CALIF
FV400-41-1
8H3
Found over Google a website with this numbers, but this are new parts from aircrafts of an American producer.
Maybe someone can help about the using and type of aircraft !?
Regards

Nils.
Have got the two fuel filler necks and top side wing skin off my crash site from PB4Y-1 B24 ,dia about the same but looks like there would have been two wings on the cap that would locate into grooves in the neck to locate and lock.
Was this cap located at a crash site?

Martin,
the cap isn´t from crashsite, it´s came from former german airfield.
It´s the only one US part who I have found here :roll:
Are the markings on your cap the same?

Hi all,
thanks for the correction !
I will send the photos to the dealer, maybe he can help :roll:
When this part was used on a B-24 then i ask me why I not found more parts here, because it is not a crashsite.
I found this cap on a former German airfield between a lot of parts of German bomber and fighter of WW2...
@Paul
The markings of the cap for a Bell Helicopter is correct, but i don´t know how came this part on this location !?
Nils
