    LONGFELLOW
So, is anyone here who reads Longfellow and Poe? I think that´s kinda toxic mixture because you surely all remember that Eddy and Longfellow had a trial ´cause Longfellow copied some of Poe´s ideas - and Poe won.

So I can hardly imagine anyone reading them both - except because they want to make fun of Longfellow

But tell me about your experiences :)

I think there was something about Longfellow and Poe in "Holes", wasn't it?

Yes, and that was already stunning enough as (in my opinion) noone can be serious in reading both of them both with the same feelings!

I just have to post a picture of them both, just to see how different they were:

Marie, you were perfectly correct when you said in school that Poe is more attractive than Londfellow...

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Poe-tess, I´m sorry to have to tell you that the thing with the trial is not completely true, I shouldn´t rely on wrong sources...the thing was this:

Poe accused Longfellow of plagiatism - but he said that Longfellow plagiatized Tennison and some other writers, not himself.
So that´s why Longfellow and Poe were enemies.

The thing with the trial is something different:
Poe was accused by his enemies (if Longfellow was involved, noone seems to know) to drink and take drugs and so on. So he set up a trial and he won because his reputation had been damaged.

So from wherever I got this information, it´s two different stories mixed up. Sorry.
