Jay´s manager contacted me today and asked what my website is about and what I need to know. So I guess, it´s going this way now ... I´ll answer him tomorrow and see what deal we can make.

If you guys have anything that you think that is missing on his official website or what you want me to do for you, the fans, let me know.

    Re: News

    newnativspirit - 22.07.2007, 11:08

I got a message from Jay last night. We were talking about Pathfinder. I didn´t want to say it, but he is so right:

"the truth is they messed up a film that could have been great. When you have the talent in a great cast and you don't use them it's just a shame"

Damn, there must be a way to change it! Jay is one of the popular NA actors and he did great movie jobs besides playing an Indian. For him it should be more easy to get the respect he deserves as an actor. It´s making me so angry that it still has to be that way. They only get the leading roles and the respect in movies made by NA filmmakers, but once there is a "white control" they are not that important anymore ...

    :x :x :x

    Re: News

    Idril - 22.07.2007, 18:16

    that's our world.

    Re: News

    newnativspirit - 22.07.2007, 19:14

    I can´t accept this!

    Re: News

    Idril - 22.07.2007, 19:20

I know, but how will you change it?

    Re: News

    eddiefever - 24.07.2007, 22:46

1st fo we can teach the next generation how things should be "devided"
    everyone being EQUAL!!
and that :not the best white actor get's the role ,but the best Actor !!

for if our generation cant succeed in changing this ,than at least we know that the next will

about trying to change it in our time
wel are there official websites of the movies ,maybe we could send Email's to them ,telling our feelings about the movie & how the roles are devided??

this is a stupid thought ,it probebly won't make no difference for the future
the only thing that would help if we would start a protest in the US itself
    at the agency's ,or something

& with help of "white" agencies who think the same as us ,make movies to show the skills of Native American actors
so that more ppl will start to see it our way

btw ,Anne you still didn't hear form that friend of yours who knew a way of helping spread the word ,of Natiove Actors getitng lesser payment & treaten racial on set & outside it ???

    Re: News

    newnativspirit - 25.07.2007, 10:06

    It´s not that easy, eddiefever!

All the actors do depend on their agents or managements! They are the once who are watching out for jobs and get contacted for special types of actors. So the actors themselves just get called to go to the castings and give their best. They are not the ones to decide. And because there are not that many acting jobs for NA actors you are happy to get any kind of job! Of course, you they can still deny to do a job, but then they don´t have a job and they also have to pay their bills. So how often do you do things you don´t want to do, because you need money? It´s the same here.

You won´t find any agent who is really only working in the interest of the clients. They need to pay their bills as well ... If they start to act for better conditions for non-priviledged actors they might loose their good reputation. This biz is hard and once you have a bad reputation you won´t get that much jobs no more ... So Hollywood will stay the boss and the boss is telling everyone else how to act !!!

I mean, remember what happened to Chris Eyre in Cannes! Linn Production is "white" and they made a great movie with great actors, but there is no interest in it. So how can they pay much money to the actors if they only have a small budget? Chris was trying to make the movie (and NA movies in general) more popular in Europe and all he got told was that there is no market for it. Imprint is a great movie, but it´s not in the theatres yet ... so it´s not that easy !!!

This biz is complicated, eddiefever and there is nothing we (fans) can do, cause we are not the ones to pay their bills !!!

    Re: News

    newnativspirit - 25.07.2007, 10:07

btw. let´s get back to the topic (Jay) ... somehow

    Re: News

    eddiefever - 26.07.2007, 10:30

i know girl ,i told you it were stupid thougth on changing the world :?
these topics always get on my nervs ,cause we all want the Na actors to have a better deal

i do believe that if the fans would protest that it would at least make some awareness ,but ththat still wouldn't change their sittuations

your absolutely right ,the actors have to make a living ,they can not stop acting or refuse movies & about the managements ,never thougth their images is almost ,if not equally ,as important as of the actors

btw this all makes me wanna cheer for Mel Gibson for making Apocalypto
he took a risk (we all know how he loves to make them  ) & it paid of ,look at Rudy now ,he's making several movies & there are more still coming on his doormat ,which is fabulous :D
lets hope he'll have the change of starting to change/break this cicle :)

I have the Missing and it is excellent. Wish I had got up on time but went to bed last night with TV on and did not sit my alarm - woke up at 6:30 almost was late this am.

I have to work JCP tonight so I won't be home till after 9:30. I'm going to try and hopefully I'll remember to bring my laptop in tomorrow because it's wireless and I can hook it up and won't have to be on this one.

Our Tech Randall wants to look at it - he's going to help me figure out some of the buttons on it - as the manual is giving me fits.

I liked his character and his acting.
I just do not know that he died or did not died in this film... any idea?
He was lovely in the film Adaptation too :) He is a very good actor.
What a pity that he has just short part in these films...

Is that really him running through that glass???

    Re: News

    Liadan - 05.05.2008, 21:13

though it's security glass it looks really painful

    Re: News

    Soccer_lady - 05.05.2008, 21:37

    Don't think it's real glass.
Years ago Tarrantino said they made it from sugar,
don't know how they make it now.

Jay is a stuntman, he knows what he's doing, LOL.

    Re: News

    Soccer_lady - 06.05.2008, 08:32

Told Jay about us wondering if it was real glass or not and here's what he said:

"that glass is real is tampered glass and they have an explosive charge in it as I hit it it explodes to small bits but it still can cut you as I was cut a few small nicks... but now imagine that from the third floor going through the glass and dropping 30 feet on to boxes... with no strings attached....!!!!"

What a daredevil...I wouldn't dare to do that.

    eddiefever - 06.05.2008, 14:55

    oohh wow :o

i'd never had the guts to do such things.
i'm glad he didn't hurt himself that bad ,just the imagine of all that glass coming down on him ,*shivers*

*flashback of the ending of "Ghost" (Patrick Swayze ,Whoopi Goldberg) *
    Yikes

Thank God that they have invented these 'triggers' to minimize the damage

    Re: News

    Idril - 06.05.2008, 20:35

I'd rather jump down from somewhere than jump through glass... :?

We been told Jay is in negotiation to play the lead role in a 6 part mini series that will be also a 2 hour film for Germany. He will play the legendary Winnetou the hero from the famous German writer Karl May books. Kevin Sorbo from the hit TV show, ("Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" is in talks to play Shatterhand who is the hero of the series. If this happens it could be very interesting to say the least! We will keep you posted.
