I wrote this once for an old guild. Most existing roleplayers already have internalized this stuff but I'm throwing it out there for people that are learning and a little concerned about being "accused" (and also because there's occasional confusion on terminology). Please note that this is descriptive, not prescriptive. In other words, I'm just writing up commonly accepted standards, not telling you what to do.
1. No metagaming. Your character does not know everything you know and game mechanics are typically OOC. In particular, CL is an OOC mechanic and should, in general, not be relied upon in RP. This also means your IC enemies are not your OOC enemies—in fact, it’s important that we have good OOC relations with our IC enemies.
2. No godmoding. You are not special, you are not Exar Kun nor are you Crix Madine. Actions taken should be “realistic” within the framework of the Star Wars universe.
3. No poweremoting. This means you cannot RP both an action and the result on another player. Don’t ”/emote shoots Ene Mee in the arm, causing him to drop his weapon and fall to the ground”, but ”/emote shoots at Ene Mee’s arm” and allow the other player to decide what happens.
4. Spatial is IC, period. Occasional fixes or corrections due to a typo that is not clearly one or various game bugs may happen, but in general these should be confined to groupchat or other OOC channels. This rule is particularly important in public areas.
