OK, here's a list of Australian bands that I have....; A. seen live and was blown away by B. purchased or d/loaded albums by, and listen to regularly, along with everything else that manages to hold my attention.
Band | Genre
Abremalin | Death Metal
Abyssic Hate | Black Metal (as raw as Ulver's stuff)
Alarum | Technical Fusion (think Cynic, but more sporadic)
Alchemist | Psi-Metal (there is no comparison)
Astriaal | Black Metal (uses folk harmonies and progressions)
Blood Duster | Grind
Chalice | Symphonic Doom ( think 3rd and the Mortal but more syncopated and upbeat)
Damaged | Death Metal (they call their sound "Hate Metal", but they're really just a bunch of wankers)
Devolved | Technical Industrial Death (NOT like Fear Factory)
Earth | ? (hard to describe... almost like Symphonic Grunge. DO NOT listen to anything after "Star Condemn'd")
Fuck I'm Dead | GoreGrind ( insanely intense due to use of a drum machine at inhuman speeds)
Infernal Method | Melodic Death
Nazxul | Black Metal
Pod People | Doom ( extremely sludgy, borders on Stoner Metal)
Psycroptic | Death Metal
Rectal Spawn | Grind (this happens to be my band, and even I cannot describe it. Strange hybrid of death, black metal and fusion. Emphasis on randomness, flatulance and sheer stupidity)
Sakkuth | Melodic Death ( definite Black Metal and Thrash influence in the sound, not necessarily the content)
