I guess this is the place to make a GC post, since i find them hard to categorize. I sense a Pink Floyd influence in their music, anyways, i love their music.
Light of Day, Darkness of Darkness is an awesome album, i just can't believe how a 60 minutes long song can feel so short!!
Tchort rules! \m/

Agreed.
I prefer In the Woods "Omnio" the best over all their other albums. If you haven't heard it, you should.

I own Heart of the Ages, Omnio, and liveatthecaledonianhall [3-CD].

2000 (...) This was also the year when the work with the masterpiece, Light of Day, Day of Darkness, started. The album went down in history as one of the most ambitious album projects of its time and perhaps ever.
150 recording tracks, more than 600 samples and more than 30 musicians, including a children’s choir and an opera choir, created a continuous song of 60 minutes that made the music press and fans praise the band as one of the most innovative acts in today’s scene. As a following of the great reviews (Album of the month in German Metal Hammer) and high sales, Green Carnation was honoured to be a part of the ending acts of well-known Wacken Open Air, in Germany, and re-created its masterpiece, Light of Day, Day of Darkness, in front of 8000 thrilled fans.

Martyrium - 16.11.2004, 20:08
mmm... don't know what to say. That demo sounds like pure death metal! wtf? what's up with Norwiegan bands, starting with death metal... This albums sounds sloppy. It sounds like Thou Shalt Suffer (Emperor), but not as raw as Mortem (Arcturus). Strange...

Is there more than one Green Carnation then? :?
Re: Green Carnation
Martyrium - 17.11.2004, 23:07
Green Carnation started playing death metal, then it became In the Woods... Years later GC continued with those 3 albums we know. But that's what sounds strange to me, they don't play DM anymore.

As much of a masterpiece as Light of Day.... is, it really is just the key riffs from Journey To the End of the Night modified slightly, made longer and crammed together with sample interludes.
