Awe- poor Idril. I picked up my copy saturday from the library (I reserved it in February, hahahaha!) and have only been able to read about 20 pages because hubby has been on vacation from work (not like I ever get a vacation!) and we've been busy doing home improvements and getting the yard cleaned up. Also, for some reason this summer is so busy everyday.

I'm hoping to get reading done this weekend on the book. From what I've read so far, I'm very excited to read more. I only have two weeks and then it's due back. For most people, that would be plenty of time, but for me- juggling the 4 y/o, husband, garden, housework, etc. I might be pulling an all-nighter like I did with the last book!

    Re: HP 7

    Idril - 25.07.2007, 22:26

*cries* Some people say it's an open ending, but I don't think so. It's just a perfect end for the Harry Potter Stories.

how boring !!! It´s enough of HP for now !!! Too many people already got too rich with that one ... they don´t need more money!

and it´s not fair to tell the people each time "this will definitely be the last HP" ... :x

Sorry, I hate HP! Right from the beginning ...

To be honest: I love the books and the movies. There are so many great actors in it.

First I didn't want to read the books or even watch the movies.. I even bullied the ones who did. Then we read the first book in school. And I got addicted to it. Well, I'm really sad because nearly all of my favourite characters died. But hey, it's just fiction, so I invented a happy end on my own^^.

    same here !!!
    i hated the HP movies
    (still haven't read the book :? )
but i have seen 4 of them
and i have to say the Goblet of Fire & the Order of The Fenix were fabulous
i can't wait to see the last movie
(ooh and can't forget to watch ,the Prisoner of Azkaban)

    Re: HP 7

    Liadan - 25.09.2007, 08:01

The prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite movie yet. Because of Gary Oldman.. well, i also love Alan Rickman he`s in every movie... The Order of the Phoenix is great. But don't like to watch it very often because Sirius dies

    Re: HP 7

    newnativspirit - 25.09.2007, 08:59

Gary Oldman is in HP? I didn´t know that, cause HP is another movie/book I´m not interested in, but my girls are ...

    Re: HP 7

    Liadan - 25.09.2007, 12:49

Yes, he is in it as Sirius Black, Harry Potters godfather. as well as Alan Rickman, David Thewlis, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Magie Smith, Emma Thompson, John Cleese, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Isaacs, Ralph Fiennes and Brendan Gleeson. They are all great british actors!

    Re: HP 7

    newnativspirit - 25.09.2007, 14:40

Is that "The prisoner of Azkaban"? Maybe I´ll get us the movie next weekend though ...

    Re: HP 7

the same here. but I cried most while reading "The deathly Hallows". I never cried while reading a book before.

    Re: HP 7

    mouseears89 - 04.10.2007, 05:39

I liked the 7th book- I think it was a good way to end the series. Not excellent- but good. There should have been more time with Harry and Voldemort one-on-one dueling, but that's just my opinion. Also, I would have liked to see the aftermath at Hogwarts and not just an afterthought in the last chapter. That was disappointing- but the rest of the book was well written and kept me entertained.

    Re: HP 7

    Liadan - 04.10.2007, 10:07

I'm really interested in who would be the next principal- what does George do after Fred died and so on...

Yes there are some questions left unanswered, and I think that is one of the qualities of a good book. It leaves the mind to wander, hence creating an endless list of possibilities. I like to have some closure- but there are many books I've read or movies I've seen that I go "HUH????" when they are over.

When I read that scene in the book I didn't understand it at first. I just didn't understand that Sirius was dead. I had to go back a few pages and read it again to recognise it.

Until the moment in the 7th book where Harry is surrounded by his mother, father, sirius and lupin to protect him I believed Sirius would come back. It was not fair - but at least he has shown up in the 7th book

I heard that the sixth HP movie's (The Half-Blood Prince) release date has been pushed back from December to July next year. Does anyone know if that's true, and if so, why it's being delayed?

    Re: HP 7

    Idril - 19.08.2008, 13:57

It is true and I heard they did so, because they thought summer would bring more audience than november, which is great, great nonsense to me.

    Re: HP 7

    evenstar - 28.08.2008, 03:19

That's funny cos December IS summer for those of us in the southern hemisphere! We're not considered important in this corner of the world *lol*

    Re: HP 7

    Idril - 28.08.2008, 11:07

oh, yeah. I totally forgot about that summer/winter-thing. Sorry

A lot of fans protested against this decision but it didn't help... The film will come sometime in the middle of next year :(

    Re: HP 7

    evenstar - 29.08.2008, 06:09

Oh, it's okay, I wasn't having a go at you about it :D

I just meant that the movie studios only release big movies in the northern summer, which sucks cos I like to go to the movies during the Christmas holidays.

    Re: HP 7

    Idril - 29.08.2008, 17:20

    Yeah, that's true. I don't get it either... :?
