Viking Metal...
I think Equilibrium, Ensiferun, Wintersun and Fintroll are the greatest Viking Metal Bands...
They simply sound awesome to me, as the combination between the fast guitar-playing, the fast solos and the powerful voices let you think back into the old times and that you suddenly feel like raising the drinking-horns together with your comrades.
The light hummpa-elements do accompany the normal riffs and solos very great and thus this music-genre seems to be very familiar to my ears and happiness rises up in me.
All in all this music-genre is simply felicitous as it is based on ancient issues, but from time to time suddenly is brilliant at renewals and you can wallow in old times though.

some of them are indeed awesome...I truly love finntroll which is rather humppa/viking metal, but unique! personally I dislike bawling within songs, but if it is appropriate to the music and if the lyrics itself do fit in it is definetely ok...but bands who get this managed are quite seldom, unfortunetely...
equilibrium is ok, ensiferum also...wintersun: haven't listened to any of their songs yet...I like the issues they deal with in their songs, partially mystical and warlike stuff, on the other hand also emotional stuff, all packed together among the ancient world-issue!
