    Kid Friendly Music??
Can anybody help me come up with a few Pop/Rock artists that would be appropriate music for my 10 year old nephew? I'm into bluegrass music mostly myself and he likes it, too. But he is wanting to listen to something a little "cooler". He can handle a few mild bad words but nothing really sexually oriented or absolutely none of the "F" word. He is wanting the album by the group "Simple Plan", do any of you know anything about them?? Thanks!!

Simple Plan have spent the last year channeling their energy, positivity and, yes, sometimes frustration, into their music. And no matter how you want to label their music, the 11 songs on the band’s highly anticipated second album, Still Not Getting Any… proves that Simple Plan are not a punk band, a pop band, a rock band or whatever label you can come up with… they are just a great band… a band that strives to write great songs and put on a hell of a show!

Named after the Billy Bob Thornton movie, Simple Plan are a 5-piece band from Montreal, Canada, comprising of high school pals Pierre Bouvier (vocals) Jeff Stinco (guitar,), David Desrosiers (bass) Saedbastien Lefebvre (guitar) and Chuck Comeau.

“The record is a bit different from the first one, but it’s still us,” Lefebvre is quick to point out on the second album. However, although Simple Plan are open to experimenting with the formula that made them famous, their biggest concern is not letting down their fans, because, that’s who this album is for.

“The connection ultimately be the between us and our fans is the most important thing we have,” explains Desrosiers. “They’ll ones who make or break our album, not some music critic who’s already made his or her mind up about us,” Stinco adds. “Without them, I would probably be working a nine-to-five job that I hate.”

I think this would be a good band for your nephew ... I don't really know their lyrics, but I don't think they are hard.

Hi Terri, if I may, go to SoundClick and join up. It is fast, free and easy, download the mp3 player and browse through the Pop genre. 99% of the music there is free and legal. You then can compile a list of what you and your nephew like. Download as many CDs as you wish for him, in as many genres as you like.

A good start might be with Sabrina Wenglarz, (ahem) just click on the SC link for Sabrina below, and that will take you to the band/artist page, then click music in the menu to go to the music page. Don't forget to check out "Debris" while you are there also. 8)

Thank you Anton and DBJ.. I got a hold of a disc that he had downloaded and listened to it, and I was shocked at some of the language on it. I quickly confiscated it, and told him I would locate him something more suitable. I think one of the groups was Green Day?? Their language was definitely not for a 10 year old boy.. he didn't know what a lot of the words were, but I still don't want him walking around singing them.

You don't him singin' some of that at school, that's for sure.

SoundClick has parental ads on anything that has bad language on it. Or at least they're supposed to. Check it out.
