I myself am not sure if it's ok to post this here, cuz I actually don't know to which genre Nerd does belong...
I have to admit that, since a friend of mine bought the album, I pretty much like them, their "new" style and their skills in making rock music and urban music all in one! also I was quite surprised to hear a "black-musician" usually making rap or rnb stuff singing on this band! I'm sorry and don't get me wrong, but I've never heard a rapper singing, and I mean real singing! but that's not the point...they're great, BUT
unfortunetely (as I have read) the band's members around pharrell do not make music anymore...they liquidated the band and such...this is pretty crappy! has anyone more details on this?

You needn't be scared, NERD will keep there good work!!
After messing up with Virgin Records where NERD is signed, Pharrell liquidated the band, but they plan to release new stuff on their homepage http://www.n-e-r-d.com/ , but with another bandname.
The singer shay is no rappe as far as i know.
But you probably know the neptunes productions with pharrell in the hook, he usually is into rnb.

yeah, I know some older stuff they made, but I did not like that as much
as the stuff they did on their current album!
and...sucks that they will have another bandname! :(

I also like the new stuff better ... apart from i like the neptunes better ;)
for sure another band name sucks, but it's better than not doing music anymore ...
