    Irish & Celtic
Hey guys...I'm listening to this genre for about half a year now, and I'm constantly searching for new bands/groups...

those I know are the following:

    Luar na Lubre
    Milladoiro
    Loreena McKennitt

    The Chieftains
    The Pogues

not that much...but, is here anyone who knows more - recommendations? :)

I like the Chieftans who have done much recording and personal appearences here in the USA.

I sometimes play (and drink Stout!!!) with an Irish group (for fun-not professionally). One night they were playing a song I did not know. I thought it was Celtic but they insisted it was Gaelic. They tried to explain the differences to me but I still do not know the meanings.

you know, milladoiro and luar na lubre (which I mentioned above) do also have gaelic lyrics...there are quite a lot bands which still do gaelic/irish/celtic music...

the chieftains...I love their drinking songs ;);) (as well as the pogues)

as you haven't understood the differences between the languages you could read the following to understand High :)

all together, scot-gaelic, irish and manx do form the celtic/gaelic languages! you always have to differ between those three....but to learn more about the important differences, read this:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaelic

    I hope it helped :)
