As I'm a metalhead normally, this post might be weird...
Is there someone who knows good - doesn't matter if new or old - bands or groups, meaning especially jazz groups...?
any recommendations?
you may also discuss about the mentioned ones (if there'll be any mentioned soon :))

Well usually i'm also not into jazz that much, but i really like Jacques Loussier.
He playes covers from bach ... he plays the piano, and some other guys bass and drums ... they freestyle over praeludiums for example, it's really good.

Without wishing to be rude to anyone on here I have to say that, with the exception of Jaques Loussier and his wonderful approach to some beautiful 'classical pieces, most of the other music indicated in the Websites listed bears little or no resemblance to jazz, blues, soul, or funk!
Sorry folks, but that's my own opinion!
I am truly amazed at what people are confusing with jazz these days! :?

Howdy from the US. I used to listen to a sax player back in the mid '70's named Tom Scott. He had a group called the Tom Cats. Very fast paced jazz, almost a rock and roll feel to it. I LOVED :!: that guy. I don't know what kind of luck you will have finding recordings of him these days, but if you can, it would definitly be worth a listen. Enjoy!

He also led Tom Scott & the L.A. Express 'pickr1959'! And he was a part-time member of the 'Blues Brothers Band', at least whenever they recorded in the studio!
