So...
I'm the first "normal" user here and I think I start the first topic with ur opinion about ur favorite bands.
Say something about and tell us why you like them so much.
My favourite bands are Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Nightwish.
Imo they're the greatest because this kind of music is ingeniously.
The way they play and their performance is breath-robbing in my eyes.
The guitar-play is simply great and the vocals of these bands is just suitable and unsurpassed.
One sentence about these bands :
They're the gods of heavy metal I think.

traL I agree with you that these bands are the 'gods of Metal'.
I like them very much but my most Favorite Band besides Blind Guardian and Metallica is Apocalyptica.
The way they covered Metallica (and some other) Songs is very interesting. To cover Metalbands with cellos is a admirable Idea and it sounds magnificent.

By the way, I really enjoy the band Eisregen, and Children of Bodom.
These are very hard Death/Speed Metal bands, but very nice.
I hope you enjoy it.

hey guys, btw, just an idea, but it would be ok if you start to classify every metal-category...just start another topic named "death metal"...then another one named "black metal" ....
btw, don't mention gothic, that's no metal !

I wanna tell you my favorite bands too, so there are HammerFall, Iced Earth and In Flames.
HammerFall is one of my favorite bands, becourse I started listening to Metal by that band.
Iced is my favorite in Speed Metal! They play the rythmes I can allways listen to! But I prefer the old things of IE with Matthew Barlow on the microphone.
In Flames are the Gods of Melodic Death Metal and the Live perfomences are that amazing; unbelieveble!!!

Seen Maiden bout 20 times or so, and goin on tour this year!!!
Yet to see 'Thrax n SOD!

Even if I seldom listen to metal I really like Apocalyptica ... to me they are the best thing metal gave us.
btw Nu Metal would be another topic, right?

At first i agree to all your opinions and i also prefer hearing metal music at all.
Otherwise music directions like soul or raggy are even quite good if you take the time to deal with. One of my favorite bands are Iron Maiden, Metallica and Nightwish....but on the other hand bands like Finntroll or Evergrey are also very popular and their sound brings harmony within different ways. You get the feeling to be understood and involved in a very frightened world. ;-D
