I was able to make some of my friends and co-workers really interested in Native Energy projects and I also want to ask for a meeting with my boss and try to make the company I´m working for to buy green-tags. In a few days the "big boss" will be here, so they can discuss it. Plus I want to call the mayor of a small village near by. They are involved in wind energy and there was an article in our local newspaper that they gonna build an "Indianvillage" for kids. I want to ask the mayor, if they need help, because otherwise it will be one of those "European Indianvillages". Maybe they take me as an advicer and let me help them to get close to the truth. They described the project a little bit and I was like "oh my god, they gonna lie to the people again!" The description of the teepees they want to build shocked me ! If I get to talk to the mayor, I´ll also introduce Intertribal COUP to him.
LOL I want to tell him, that he can´t build up an Indianvillage he would have to be ashamed of, because if I will make some of my friends to come and visit ... just imagine, what they will think, when they will see such a village ... maybe, he´ll think of it.
So, there is lots to do for me next week ...

omg  I hope they let you lead the bulding of the indian village...

As long as I don´t know how to move single posts, I copied them and put them up here ... I think this is the right place to discuss this

You know, every time I see a natural disaster on the news like Hurricane Katrina or the Asian tsunamis I always think that nature is getting back at us for everything we have put her through. If anyone isn't worried about global warming after seeing things like that then they certainly should be!

The problem is you can´t teach the elder people! They can´t really understand ... just like my grandma ... she´s shocked by the things she can see on TV, but she still lives her life the way she always used to do it. But what WE need to do is to teach our children !!! We are the ones to show them what needs to be changed and of course we will have to learn! The future of our kids depend on us. It´s not easy to explain global warming to kids, but with a few "games" it´s pretty easy to make them see, that something isn´t going the right way and then you can teach them ... one of the topics of my upcoming workshops for kids. I already thought about some things ... do you guys know "Lars, the little Icebear" ?

Okay ladies- I know you may get mad at me, but I have to voice my opinion on global warming. It's completely blown out of proportion. The earth has only warmed up 0.01 percent of a degree in the last 200 years. They didn't even track the weather until the 1800's- so that is the only data we have to compare it to. The earth naturally goes through cycles of heating and cooling. Why else would the earth have a molten core and solid mass on the surface? These are all just normal cycles that earth has to go through. Rome wasn't built in one day- and neither was the earth.
I do agree with recycling, tree hugging, etc. etc. because I am a mother earth lover. Why else would I plant a garden and raise my own food? We use energy saving lightbulbs, alternative heating sources, and still have a septic tank and well water. So I am doing my part to keep mother earth clean (yes, I even subscribe to the magazine Mother Earth News), but this global warming thing- I have a real problem with. I think it's the news media's way of scaring us so we take our minds off of other more important things- like protecting our neighbors and providing for our families.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 02.12.2006, 16:39

I want to reply to mouseears´ post:

I think if we talk about global warming is not only about how much the earth warmed up - you are right - that´s just a regular process. But I think by using the term global warming we mean the specific case of the more general term "climate change". It´s the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans in recent decades. An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including a rising sea level and the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as floods, droughts, heat waves, hurricanes, and tornados is increasing as well. There are human and non-human causes for the global warming. Just think of all the CO2 in the atmosphere which warms the Earth's surface and leads to melting of ice near the poles.

I could go on and on and on ... it´s pretty complex. And I´m really afraid of the future, if we don´t start to change things and talk about the problem. I don´t think that the media wants to scare us - and who says that we can´t take care of our friends, family, neighbours etc. and of mother earth at the same time?

That was a good point mouseear - thank you!

Anne, I totally agree with what you said about older people not wanting to know about global warming! I have the same problem trying to get my mother to listen, but you are right about it being more important to teach the children!

Mouse, have you seen the Al Gore documentary, "An Inconvient Truth". This should address some of your concerns about how serious global warming is. The planet does go through regular life cycles, but the recent temperature changes aren't consistent, and that is what worries me. Can we really convince ourselves that the huge amounts of CO2 that we're pouring into the atmosphere isn't having an impact? If you're in any doubt, just think about all of the natural disasters that have been taking place around the world in recent times.

I really don't think that this is a scare tactic from the media. What would they have to gain from it anyway? I actually think that the reverse is true. For years they have been trying to deny that climate change is a serious problem, and it's only now that they are (reluctantly) starting to do something about it!

Anne, I think that one of the less considered issues in the global warming debate is the effect that deforestation has on global temperatures. After all, the less trees we have to soak up all of the CO2 that humans are emitting means more of it that goes into the atmosphere!

If it was only CO2... There are so many other chemicals comming into the air. Like methan (this is the german name, I haven't found an english translation, I hope it's not too bad) or older things like FCKW.

I think the word methan is the english translation too only I think the english methan has a few more letters in it. I was watching a show the other night on nature and natural diseasters - they talked about the ice caps slowly melting and sunamies (sorry can't spell it either)

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 04.12.2006, 20:04

yeah. The ubs are melting, because the heat the human produce can't leave the world the way it should, because there are so many CO2-clouds.

And the word is Tsunami. You just forgot the T
But the problem aren't only the tsunamies. There are much more tornados, even here in Germany, where they are "not at home".

yep toronados, fires, many things contribute to the warming - also all the emissions from the automobiles and factories.

You're right Idril, we are pumping a lot of dangerous chemicals into the environment! Apparently they are planning to build nuclear power plants here in Australia, and it has sparked a lot of debate. Apparently they are claiming that nuclear power isn't as dangerous as it used to be. But we will still be producing nuclear waste right? And where are we going to dispose of that?

Well I must say you ladies sure present a good case. I understand your views, and will not neglect pondering them.
And along this line, I hope all of you are eating organic fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, and fish. If our governments are allowing these chemicals to be blown into the air, imagine what they are passing off onto your tables? Genetically modified food sources are huge contributors to such diseases as asthma, allergies, heart disease, cancer, and a slew of others. Take care of yourself- because no one else is going to.

Re: Help to save nature !

You're right. I don't want to know what chemicals are in my food (allthough I'm trying to find out what kind of things they put in sweets lol).

If I didn't live at home and had more control over the grocery shopping, then believe me I would be eating everything organic! I would probably grow some of my own vegetables too! Good point mouse, nothing is more important than our health and that of our families is it? :D

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 06.12.2006, 15:32

We just had a discussion about that at work. It´s so difficult in our days to buy healthy food. If you go to a grocery store they gonna tell you that everything is healthy! There are statistics about how many vitamines and stuff are still in our vegetables and even the ones you can pick in your own garden are not very healthy anymore, because the ground is not healthy and the rain is not clean and too many things are in the air that are not good for the salat and all the other stuff ... it´s really not easy.

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 06.12.2006, 18:17

You said it. It's no easy. My mum has a pretty huge garden where she plants vegetables and strawberrys and others things for us to eat. So she doesn't need to buy some things during the year, because we have so much of some things (like potatoes or beans) that we can put it in our freezer and live for almost a year of our garden  My mum also loves to gather mushroos, but only those which don't grow right next to the street.

Re: Help to save nature !

    evenstar - 07.12.2006, 02:43

Oh, I love mushrooms! Oh and Anne, that is a good point. I've never really thought about how unhealthy the soil and air is too! But unfortunately we cannot control absolutely everything.

Re: Help to save nature !

    mouseears89 - 07.12.2006, 06:17

You ladies are absolutely right- we cannot control everything, and just have to do our part to make the best of it. I'm glad to hear Idril that your mom is passing some of the "old ways" onto you. It will be your responsibility to take care of your family some day, and it's good that you have someone to teach you. Now, please don't take this as a remark against strong women and their roles. My mom raised three girls with little input from my father- she was a single mom in the 70's and we have all heard stories about how oppressed they were back then. But she made her decisions, and still was able to get her degree in Accounting, while we went to school during the day. She taught us girls to be independent, but also to have good heads on our shoulders. I believe you can be a stong woman: mother and worker, because I have seen it first hand.
I guess what I want to say is this- don't believe everything you hear, read or see until you fully investigate it for yourself- without someone else's viewpoint being wispering into your ear.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 07.12.2006, 12:02

I guess Idril has seen a good example by visiting me! I told her the "story of my life". I had to fight all my life and I´ve got my own opinion about things - that´s why alot of people in my town don´t come along with me. I always stayed the person I am, no matter what all the others expected me to do and I raise my kids the way I do think it´s the best way and I do get compliments for my son all the time, because he knows how to behave and how to treat people. Of course, he still has to learn a lot, but I gave him a good basis ... a lot of people do not understand why I´m doing all this support work for Native American people, why I´m talking about wind energy in South Dakota although we do have our own wind parks ... they don´t want to understand, but I don´t care. There are always a few who want to learn and do listen - that´s all I want. You should always stay on your path once you´ve found it and that´s what I´m doing ... it took me a while to find my way, but now I am happy with what I´m doing and so I guess I will follow this path !!! And I´m pretty good in convincing people ... ask Idril ... lol ... if I start talking about a topic I´m interested in, you can´t stop me ... LOOOOOOOOL

Six people have been injured after what has been described as a mini-tornado ripped through a north-west London street.

One man in his 50s suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital, while five others have been treated for minor injuries and shock, according to the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

The tornado touched down on Chamberlayne Road in the Kensal Rise area, ripping up roofs and hurling debris along the street.

Eyewitnesses reported a loud noise preceding the tornado, which touched down for about 30 seconds and travelled about 300m.

A number of ambulances and 50 firefighters were called to the scene at about 11:00 GMT this morning.

"We can confirm that we were called to Chamberlayne Road at 11.02am today after a storm caused structural damage to a number of properties in the area," an LAS spokesman said.

"We have sent four ambulances, two fast response cars and two officers to the scene. We have also activated the helicopter emergency medical service which carries a senior trauma-trained doctor and a paramedic."

A London fire brigade spokesman added that a local school has been evacuated and the children moved to another school.

"It's a freak weather condition," he said. "We mobilised in excess of 20 fire appliances which we have now scaled down."

He added: "The local authorities are working to rehouse people should they need it."

Daniel Bidgood, a resident of nearby Crediton Road, said the scene in his area was one of "utter devastation".

"It's like someone has dropped bombs there," he told BBC News 24.

"I heard heavy thunder and as I went to go and get my camera debris flew across the road and I had to take cover."

He added: "There was a huge roar – a sound of an aircraft taking off that came up the road.

"The air turned great and you could see it ripping up heavy chunks of mortar and hurling roof tiles off.

"It was incredibly frightening. The sound was something I've not heard before."

Weather forecasters had predicted strong winds and heavy rain in the south-east of England today and flood warnings

And I´ve read in a German newspaper that we do have the warmest December for 1300 years ...

As I told you, we had this meeting today. We had a power-point-presentation about how the company I´m working for is developing on the world-market and stuff like that ... so the "big boss" was there, too. He doesn´t come to my town that often, but for this meeting he always shows up. After the dinner he was talking to some workers and was just walking around, so I "catched" him and introduced my company to him. I asked him if "SIGENIA Aubi" (that´s the name of the company I´m working for) would like to support Intertribal COUP by buying Green Tags. I explained everything to him and that I also try to make young people aware of the "global warming" problem ... he was very interested and asked me to send him the link to my website and the link to Intertribal COUP, Native Wind and Native Energy. He also told me that he gets alot of requests like that and that he can´t make any promises, but he will for sure take a look at the websites and answer my email.
Now you guys have to wish me luck that he decides to support these projects and Native American People ... that would be such a great success, because this guy is RICH ... and if I say rich, I mean RICH RICH !!! I don´t even have a feeling about it, but of course I hope that I´ll get a positive answer. At least, he was very estonished that I´m involved in something like that and he promised to take a close look at my website, because I made him interested in the subject. (I told you, I´m a pretty good speaker - lol - my co-workers told me, too, because they were listening - lol)

I´ll write this email to him tomorrow and send it on Monday, because I will have to ask for his direct contact at the office first. So this will be an exciting week for me. It would be a great Christmas gift for Native Energy to get some support from Germany/Europe! And for me, too.

And this happened here where I live today:

    08.12.2006
    Mehring: Windrad verliert Rotorblatt

    Translation:
In the early morning a wind turbine on the “Mehringer Höhe” has broken. An about 35 m long rotor sheet of the wind turbine, which is 113 m high, broke off, fell down and split in numerous pieces. Nobody was injured. Already around 6.45 o'clock a passing driver informed the police that a wind turbine turns extremely fast. When police officers arrived on site, an about 35 m long rotor sheet broke off. The parts of the rotor sheet spread on surrounding meadows and in the woods. The cause of the accident is still unknown. Experts of the company are on site. How big the damage to property is, is still not for sure. The police has blocked off the area around the wind turbine, because there are still parts of the rotor sheet falling down.

We had extremely heavy storms in our area today !!! Also all over Germany/Europe !

I´ll write this email to him tomorrow and send it on Monday, because I will have to ask for his direct contact at the office first. So this will be an exciting week for me. It would be a great Christmas gift for Native Energy to get some support from Germany/Europe! And for me, too.

Aaaaaaaaaah! So cool!!! I will keep my fingers crossed! :D

I was thinking a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time about doing this and I still feel kind of uncomfortable with it, but I need to do it:

I plan on buying green tags in the name of NewNativeSpirit and I want to ask you, if you want to join. If you´ve been to the website of Native Energy and checked out the opportunities, you all know that you only have to pay a little amount to help. You won´t even have to by those green tags by your own. NewNativeSpirit will purchase the green tags for you. Means you can pay like only a few Euro into a special NewNativeSpirit account and I will see how many green tags I will be able to get for your money!!! I understand that we all don´t have that much money, but I´m sure we can get the money for a Wind Builder Green Tag !!! Let us proove that Europeans do care about global warming and want to help. Only one green tag would be enough - so let´s make it happen !!! Tell your friends about it and convince them to join us !!! If there are 10 of you each asking 10 friends for only 1 Euro we would get 100 Euro = 2 green tags ( WindBuilders 6 keeps 6 tons of CO2 out of the air. For 20¢ per day ($72), you can have the same impact on global warming as taking the average car off the road for a year. It's also the same as powering and heating the average U.S. apartment entirely with wind energy for a whole year. ) So will you help to save nature?

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 10.12.2006, 18:49

I will help you! Allthough my parents aren't that happy with it. Can I give you the money for it personal?

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 10.12.2006, 19:47

Why are they not happy? What are their arguements against it?

Sure, when you come to visit me in a few days ? YES !!!!!!!!

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 10.12.2006, 19:52

Because they are already giving money to Unicef and other organisations. And now it's christmas time and we're a bit low at money.

How much money shall I give you?

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 10.12.2006, 20:25

How much? As much as you can give - less is more than nothing! As I said if a lot of people give a little it´s still enough!

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 10.12.2006, 20:27

ok I will think about it

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 10.12.2006, 20:37

As I said, convince your friends as well! A good argument to do it is that you can save some people from freezing this year !!! Because the prices on oil and stuff are so extremely high for Native people on the Rez they can´t buy it to heat their houses ... so they stay cold for the winter! With a windfarm near by to serve them with energy they could afford a heater - it´s just an example ... not one of the main reasons why one should support windfarms, but it´s something that also still happens every year!!! A lot of Native people still do freeze each year in winter !!! They don´t even have wood to heat their houses ...

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 10.12.2006, 20:41

I will do my best but I can't promiss anything :?

Re: Help to save nature !

    evenstar - 11.12.2006, 02:43

Anne, it is possible for me to get involved if you're buying them in euros? I can try to convince some of my friends, but unfortunately most of them aren't as concerned about these issues as I am!

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 11.12.2006, 10:16

Sure, you can get involved as well ! I can talk to the people from my bank and ask them what´s the best way for international money transfer. It would be great, if you could convince some of your friends.

Re: Help to save nature !

    evenstar - 12.12.2006, 02:34

I'm going to try, but I know that at least one of them thinks that carbon offsetting is a cop out, like paying somebody money to erase your sins.

    Mehring: Windrad verliert Rotorblatt

Wow that is something. I know here in KY we are having milder temps. Last January 2, 06 we had toronado's coming through it was around 70 degrees. Our weather here just keeps going up and down - one never knows how to dress anymore...and sickness is abounding.

I grew up on a farm with a garden and we ate mostly from it. Also if there was meat needed - they'd butcher a cow, chicken, etc. Course I would not eat any of the meat. I hope the company doesn't give you grief over your project. Gosh I'm so sleepy.

On my check from JCP I had a total of 60.5 hours of working part-time these last 2 weeks - in addition to working 40 hours a week at U fo L.

Doing More by Doing Less: American Indian Film Festival Fights Global Warming
    November 12th, 2006
When it comes to fighting global warming, it’s what you don’t see that counts. Doing more by doing less. This year, the American Indian Film Festival (AIFF) is doing less.

Native Wind, a South Dakota based non-profit dedicated to developing renewable energy resources on tribal lands, donated “Green Tags” to the AIFF—financial contributions used as credits to build clean energy wind farms.

Pat Spears, President of the Intertribal Council on Utility Policy (COUP), presented the Green Tags certificate to AIFF president Michael Smith at the annual event November 11th in San Francisco. Afterward, he introduced a one-minute public service announcement video featuring his son, actor Eddie Spears and Lakota Chief Arvol Looking Horse.

“The Green Tags donated to the Film Institute will offset 25 percent of travel expenses to the festival this year as well as cut down the emissions from the use of the venue,” says Spears. How this happens, he explains, is the funds from the Green Tags go toward buying wind turbines on reservation land—a clean, efficient energy resource with the proceeds directly benefiting the tribe.

Lest you think this is largely ceremonial, think again. At a cost of approximately $1.3 million dollars, one wind turbine is capable of providing the energy needs of 300 homes for one year. Clean, renewable energy to offset the pollution causing global warming.

“The investment of building the turbines is an upfront cost and still cheaper in the long run than running fossil fuel. By buying Green Tags, an average person can do something about reducing global warming,” says Spears. “It’s like a down payment. Twenty to 25 percent of the cost of one turbine can come from Green Tags; in fact, at the Rosebud Reservation, 25 percent of the funding came from Green Tags. That’s pretty significant.”

Eddie and his actor brother Michael are actively involved in promoting Native Wind, and do everything from helping their father in the field, to speaking at colleges and universities. Their visibility as actors provides additional focus to the issue of clean energy.

Whether an individual or company makes a sizable investment in Green Tags, or is able to buy a small amount, it all helps. The key, Spears emphasizes, is doing what you can to reduce global warming while promoting the welfare of Native people.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don´t forget to buy "your" green-tag!!!

    newnativspirit - 06.01.2007, 01:06

Anybody else who wants to buy green tags? Only 1 Euro would be enough!

they just said it on the news : 2007 will be the warmest year ever ... caused by global warming ... damn, they were talking about the consequences that are to be expected ... wow - 2040 we could expect an effect on the changes we can make today !!! So what are we waiting for? To support Native Energy would be a beginning !!!

Re: Help to save nature !

    evenstar - 06.01.2007, 14:15

Yeah, I heard that on the news too. I hope it made people worried enough to take action!

I'll chip in to buy some green tags :)

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 18.01.2007, 14:22

wow - we have a bad storm coming up!!! It was already extremely windy this morning and because I was in kindergarten finishing the dreamcatchers, I´ve heard all the stories ... people came to pick up their kids earlier and school was off for the rest of the day. People are asked to stay at home - and believe me I WILL !!! - and the busses won´t drive anymore. Yeap - Germany is sleeping !!! We hope they can keep up the electricity - I don´t know if I can be online later on. They say it´s gonna get even worse till midnight !!! I am happy that I won´t have to go anywhere today ! It´s raining and the emergency cars are on the roard all the time ... you can´t even check out the weather on the internet, because those sites are too reflected right now ... everybody wants to check out what will happen. Maybe you can see it on your news. They say it´s because the temperatures have been really low - it was freezing but now there is coming some warm air from the Atlantic and that´s what is causing the storms, because the air is way too warm !!! Plus it´s way too warm for January at all ... we already got some spring flowers !!!!!

Any more doubt that there is something going totally wrong ? :)

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 18.01.2007, 15:13

It´s pretty scary outside !!! They say it´s all over Western Europe !! Idril, what is it like up there where you live? My son told me that there were trees on the streets when he came back home from school. I phoned him to come home earlier, because this street is well known for lots of accidents and so I didn´t want him to drive there in the middle of the storm.

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 18.01.2007, 18:16

It's just the same over here. Storm and rain. I fought my way to the stable to give the horses a free run lol When I came back I looked like I had been bathing with clothes on

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 18.01.2007, 18:56

Just now they said on the news that there are no trains will be going anywhere today !!!! Bridges are closed and already 3 people died !!! And it´s still getting worse outside - you should hear the wind blowing - it´s scary - my girls are a bit afraid

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 18.01.2007, 19:02

    I love it. lol

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 18.01.2007, 19:42

me too, in some way, but it´s getting pretty dangerous! I´m glad I don´t have to go anywhere tonight and stay home ... we have to expect the worst in about an hour - in Great Britain there are already 5 dead people - glass is breaking and roofs are coming down - I don´t think it´s cool ... Holland is reporting dead people ...

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 18.01.2007, 19:44

no, of course it's not cool when people die and I'm aso pretty that I don't have to go outside anymore lol But I still love to listen to the wind and the rain.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 18.01.2007, 19:53

It does sound dangerous - I´m not afraid, but it´s a weird feeling I have ...

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 18.01.2007, 20:01

I don't know why, but I feel good. Listening to a storm, walking through a forest and being with horses, that's what makes me feel good.

Re: Help to save nature !

    evenstar - 19.01.2007, 03:02

I agree, storms comfort me somehow. So it's just really windy and rainy? I can't believe that people all over Europe and being killed because of it. That is really awful.

Re: Help to save nature !

    eddiefever - 19.01.2007, 17:44

same here for the storms ,it was horrible
as far as we know 5 ppl died , above 10 ppl are badly injured ,and numerous ppl are normal hurt by the weather
i saw the news ,they were shooting a mall ,and ppl who were walking on the streets were blown away ,literaly ,you saw a lot fo ppl fall and it were young ppl ,in their 20's and 30's
    it was really scary
our nabour on your left had a relaly big old tree and it has been pulled out of the ground ,wel ti was still stuck in the ground but by only 1 root
tiles are lose ,the fenches are broken ( nto just by my nabour ,but with a lot fo ppl in this hood) and the tree landed on my otehr nabours car 9 nabour of my right) he always sets his car there cause there is nto much space for cars in our street ,wel his car has scratches ,thankfully no bumbs ,cause it was a pretty new BMW cabriolet ,wel i'm just gladno one from our nabourhood got injured
but a few mile sfurter a big accident happend ,5 cars bumbed at each other cause of the strong windblows that came and go'
they forcasted that today would be similair but a bit less ,wel nothing happend so far ,so i hope this weather is over

and Anne ,your roight about the flowers ,there are even trees that are blooming ,and not to mention the birds ,they haven't flown to the west for nicer weather cause the temperature here is to hot for this time of year
it should be freezing ,instead it's like were still in September or October

wel i just wanna wish everyone to be carefull with this weather ,for if it will start again this evening ,and plz stay inside when it happends
    :? :? :? :? :?
btw in our country it was the first time they adviced ppl to STAY INSIDE which showed us how bad it was
    :? :? :? :? :?

Re: Help to save nature !

If you guys are still interested in buying Green Tags let me know. I told Pat that I know people who want to buy some and he was so happy and grateful. So I´m still trying to figure out how to do it, but I had the idea to open an NewNativeSpirit account in the States. With the help of my friend Nadja it should work and it will be the best way, I guess. But I still need to wait for Nadja´s answer. I´m thinking about doing the money transfer with PayPal, so I can transfer the money from NNS Germany to NNS USA. If you also do have PayPal, we could also do it directly from your account then. But we´ll have to wait and see. Just wanted to let you guys know, that I´m still thinking about it. So keep it on mind ... It would be great, if you would like to help to save our planet that way!

You buy a Green Tag and the money will go the windenergy projects to build new turbines on the reservations. You don´t need to buy a Green Tag, if you don´t have the money, but you can send me how much you want to give and together with the money of other people, I will go and buy the Green Tags in the name of NewNativeSpirit. By that, we can do it all together. But of course you can also buy a Green Tag - go and check it out again: www.nativewind.org !!!

If you want to spend the whole amount for one Green Tag you can do it directly by going to the website of Native Energy. But if you want to spend less, you can pay it into the NNS USA account (which will be at a bank in the States) and Nadja will use your money to get the Green Tags in the name of NNS ...

    Give Green Tags
The point of giving green tags is to financially support the development of renewable energy and ultimately to displace fuels which produce carbon dioxide and contribute to global warming.

    Buying green tags is easy
This is the easiest way you can support the development of renewable energy. It only takes a few minutes to buy a green tag! You can choose exactly how much you want to invest, depending on your budget. For as little as $12 you can offset One Ton of carbon dioxide. Take a ton of C02 out of the air in the name of someone you love. Native Energy offers green tags in the form of greeting cards that you can buy online. For details and purchase of green tags please visit Native Energy.
Green tags (also called Renewable Energy Credits or RECs or Tradable Renewable Credits or TRCs) represent the environmental benefit from clean power generation. When you buy a green tag, you are effectively displacing dirty coal, or other fossil fuels. Most importantly, you are replacing fossil fuels with with wind or solar energy and helping invest in a new, clean energy industry.

Green tags from Native Energy finance future projects:
Normally people can only buy green tags from renewable energy projects that are already built. In many cases these are big utilities that have ample means to finance renewable energy, but wouldn't do it without additional incentives.
Native Wind is different because we use green tags to finance small energy projects that are in development. Without green tags these kinds of projects would not be built.

WindBuilderssm 12 keeps 12 tons of CO2 out of the air. For 40¢ per day ($144), you can have the same impact on global warming as powering and heating the average U.S. household entirely with wind energy for a whole year. It's also the same as taking two average cars off the road for a year. WindBuilderssm 12 is available with a monthly payment option of $12.50 per month. Climate CoolTMCertified.

WindBuilderssm 8 keeps 8 tons of CO2 out of the air. For 26¢ per day ($96), you can have the same impact on global warming as powering the average U.S. household entirely with wind energy for a whole year. It's also the same as taking one SUV off the road for a year. Climate CoolTMCertified.

WindBuilderssm 6 keeps 6 tons of CO2 out of the air. For 20¢ per day ($72), you can have the same impact on global warming as taking the average car off the road for a year. It's also the same as powering and heating the average U.S. apartment entirely with wind energy for a whole year. Climate CoolTMCertified.

WindBuilderssm 1 Gift – includes a free pint of Ben & Jerry’s! – keeps a whole ton of CO2 out of the air in the name of your child, your mom, or each of your friends, associates or employees. For just $15, you can give an educational gift that spreads the word and shows you care about global warming, climate change, and good ice cream!

The WindBuilders info was on their website, but I can´t find them no more - maybe they changed it. I´ll ask Nadja about it, cause she already bought some Green Tags. But as I already told you, once we´ve opened the accounts, you can transfer the amount you can affort. Even if it´s only a little money, it still does help.

For those who speak German ( I try to write a short English version)

As I said, for Europe it´s your own decision, cause when I will buy as much green tags as possible with the money I do get from supporters. And cause the exchange rate it will be different each single day ... so give what you are able to give. It´s fine with me, if it is less than 15 USD.

Re: Help to save nature !

    eddiefever - 08.04.2007, 15:37

ooh are there different ones than?
i thought Wind and Energy was combined
so ti are 2 different projects under the same corporation?

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 08.04.2007, 21:38

You are confusing me - lol

Native Energy is selling the green tags - but Native Wind is telling us about it. If you go to their website you will find a link to Native Energy to purchase green tags, but this doesn´t work for Europe yet ...

That´s why agreed with Pat, that European supporters can give what they want to give and I´ll take care of the rest ...

NativeEnergy's majority owner, the Intertribal Council On Utility Policy (COUP), was recognized for its commitment to renewable energy by receiving the World Clean Energy Award for Courage past June 15th.
The awards, presented in Basel, Switzerland, highlight large-scale renewable energy projects and chose 9 of the best from over 70 nominated projects. This award honored COUP for its innovative demonstration of environmental justice and revitalization, and for its vision to create 3,000 MW of tribally owned wind across the northern Great Plains by 2015. The first step of this plan included the Rosebud Sioux Tribe's construction of the Alex Little Soldier Wind Turbine, built with NativeEnergy's financial support.

To those who want to support NNS buying as many green tags as possible, I suggest to sign up at PayPal. It´s the cheapest and a save way to transfer money.

Let me know, if anybody wants to do it that way and I´ll send you a money request for the amount you want to give. I´ll buy the green tags by myself when I´m in the States and we´ll get a certificate ! If you have any further questions feel free to contact me.

HI ya - someone posted this link at Eddie's imdb page, so I thought I'd share it here.

World Clean Energy Awards, supposedly Patrick and Bob are in the video - I haven't had time to watch myself (yet).

Also - I've been trying to catch the NBC news but no such luck.

I have to agree - after watching the longer video there is a side profile of their dad and there is a definite similarity between Eddie and his Dad - same nose, similar profiles. It was also great hearing their dad speaking Lakota.

Okay so I tried something this morning @ work and it didn't work so I talked to my I.T. guy. If you're using Internet Explorer or Netscape the 15 minute video won't work - he said it's missing a code. It works with Safari (Macs) and Mozilla Firefox (PCs). His suggestion was to download Mozilla.

I'm still going to try something on Mac this weekend to hopefully get it to work.

    Cheers. :D

I finally was able to watch the video. Pat is speaking in the end of it. His voice sounds totally different when he is speaking Lakota! I´m really proud to be allowed to support him and his projects !!! It´s an honor !
This is just the beginning - I hope that much that the world is realizing what he and all the others are doing. It´s only one world and we all are a part of it - we all do watch our homes very carefully; why did we forget to watch our basic home? We all need to take action before it´s too late!
NewNativeSpirit will keep up supporting Pat Spears, Intertribal COUP, Native Wind and NativeEnergy and I hope you, the members of this board, will help me with this. Thank you!

I will and do, it bothers me to no end how my government doesn't seem interested in exploring wind energy or other renewable energy sources. Oohh lets continuing using coal to create energy - yeah - that's a good idea - NOT.

For those who can't see it I'm still going to try and sort something out. :D

The German government starts to think about it at least. And our president Mrs. Merkel really made some people in the EU listen, but it will still take them years to make a remarkable change ... hope it won´t be too late then.

LG&E our electric company here in Kentucky is working with Eon (sorry probably spelled wrong) in the wind energy venue. They have even been advertising "green houses" that are made solely out of organic stuff that is supposed to be better for the enviroment.

    Press Release

3C and NativeEnergy Form International Partnership

3C and NativeEnergy Form International Partnership Providing Quality Carbon Reduction Solutions To European & U.S. Markets

Frankfurt, Germany/Vermont, U.S.A. - 3C and NativeEnergy, two major purveyors of the voluntary high-quality carbon market, announce the first intercontinental partnership between a European based offset provider and a leading U.S. provider. The formation of this large-scale alliance will have significant impact on the development and sustainment of high quality carbon offset projects across the globe.

The partnership provides a unique opportunity for 3C to supply European clients with high-quality U.S. based offsets, while NativeEnergy can now make Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) available to their U.S. client base.

“We are very pleased to enter into a partnership with 3C to further the development of high quality carbon offsets projects both in the U.S. and around the world,” says Tom Boucher, President of U.S. based NativeEnergy. “The opportunity to collaborate with a leading company who shares in our value to ensure the development of high-quality projects is exciting.”

you are welcome. I´ll contact this company and see if we can cooperate in some way.

Great! I'm still at home, had to go out and scrape ice off the cars. they have us on 2 hour delay - provided some of us can even get in. I got some good photos I hope. It's supposed to turn to rain and wash all of this away. If I can get in I will if not my boss told me not to worry about it. I probably should go out and shut my car off - man the ice.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 12.02.2008, 19:28

We already have spring weather ... on TV they said that we can expect a loooooooooooooooooong and nice spring season thanks global warming! We only had 2 days of snow and not enough freezing days this winter ... this is not good for the nature ... I wonder if we will have a warm summer at least - last year we had too much rain and it was way too cold for summer time ...

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 12.02.2008, 20:07

It's so warm here. I run around in a T-Shirt half of the day, because it's too hot to do my training in a pullover. But I'm still waiting for snow  I fear I wont have some this winter

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 12.02.2008, 20:52

    CLIMATE CHANGE !

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 12.02.2008, 21:49

Not only. It's not that uncommong to have three or for winters in a row without - well - real winters.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 13.02.2008, 10:52

maybe it´s because you are so much younger than I am ... LOL ... but when I was a little kid we used to have tons of snow every year - even a white Christmas !!!!
Daniel is your age and if I remember it right he was lucky to have some snow winters when he was a little kid as well, but it never lasted long ! The last time we had snow for Christmas was back in 2001 I guess ...
Climate change doesn´t happen for the past 5 years - it´s already happening for a little while longer - lol - so if one can remember wonderful white winters and has to deal with our "warm" winters today, one can talk about climate change, young girl.

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 13.02.2008, 17:55

But you also have to think about the area you live in. If I remember it right my mum (from south-germany) had alsways more snow than my dad (from north-germany). It's true that climate change has it's effect on everything, but not everything is the climate change's fault.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 13.02.2008, 18:10

I´m talking about the area I live in ... when I talk about having lots of snow when I was a kid, I talk about the same area I live today and so I see how it changed ... and this is in fact a climate change thing. I know it, because a man living here in my town collected all the dates from the past 100 years and together with farmers and forest rangers they did studies to find out how the weather changed here in our area - like finding out about rain and dryness periods and if it comes only every 10 years (for example) or if one can talk about a durable change of the climate in our area ... and that´s what it is ...

It´s a fact that the eart is warming up like 2 degrees or something like that every year - caused by the rotation and some other things ... this has nothing to do with the climate, but climate change is a big threat and we all can see the signs !!! There´s always been a climate change since the earth is excisting, but we advanced it in the past years !!!

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 14.02.2008, 10:01

I'm not trying to fight with you, just to make that clear

It's just that - as far as I know - there yurely is climate change, but everything that happens today people say it was the climate change and that's not always true. Climate change always happened. Sometimes caused by catastrophes, sometimes climate changed more slowly. We can make it more slowly, but we can't stop it. That's what I think. That doesn't mean we should go on destroying everything. It just means we should be more careful, but accept, that we can't stop the climate change.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 14.02.2008, 11:07

I´m not fighting with you  and you are right too, but we need to see the signs and for me the missing snow is a sign.

I agree with you that there´s always been a climate change - that´s what I meant by saying that our planet is constantly warming up ... but with all the air pollution we really supported the climate change.

Hey, what do you think where all these weather proverbs are coming from - weather situations can repeat every whatever years ... but you have to admit that the weather isn´t like it should be ... we just need to be aware of the fact that human beings can influence it in some way ...

    Do you agree?

I´m the last one to fight ... :D

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 14.02.2008, 11:22

I agree on that. I think I missunderstood you a bit  Sorry.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 14.02.2008, 11:33

    no problem

Re: Help to save nature !

    Liadan - 14.02.2008, 11:52

ok.. i'll have to say something about that. this semester we had Geography at university and talked about this. I don't believe that humans are responsible for the warming of the earth. It's always been there (My professor says that we live in an intermission between two iceages and that we still have 15°c UNDER the average temperatures for these intermissions)
But humans are responsible for all the CO2 in the athmosphere. and that's something we can't calculate which affects it has on our planet. So we must be aware of the CO2 and not only climate.
But it's true.. lots of older people told me that in former times winter was real winter abd spring took much longer.

Did you know that scientists found some submontane lakes under Antarctica? These lakes are cut from the rest of the world since millions of years. Imagine what animals could still live there. They didn't break through to the lakes yet because they don't want to contaminate it.

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 14.02.2008, 12:07

... and they should leave the lakes where they are! Just imagine what kind of strange world this must be!

Re: Help to save nature !

    Liadan - 14.02.2008, 12:47

yep.. but I'm really curious about it... maybe they develop something that enables us to see whats inside the lakes without contaminating them - or us :)

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 14.02.2008, 12:53

yes, who knows what´s in there :?

Re: Help to save nature !

    Liadan - 14.02.2008, 13:10

    Godzilla

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 14.02.2008, 13:11

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

that would be bad !!! But there could in fact be some strange animals in there ...

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 14.02.2008, 21:39

    Now I'm scared.... :?

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 14.02.2008, 21:48

ain´t this a good idea for your next story?

Re: Help to save nature !

    Liadan - 14.02.2008, 23:35

.. with the title "beyond Antarctica"

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 15.02.2008, 18:11

Sure it's a good idea and I could write a story about it but there are already such stories and films (look at Alien vs. Predator for example). I rather write my fantasy stories

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 15.02.2008, 18:36

it can be a fantasy story, too. Just imagine there are fairy people living in a wonderful underwater world ... defending there world from us or something like that.

But this is not the thread to discuss this

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 15.02.2008, 19:43

    Atlantis lol

jep, let's get back to the topic.

Help End Discrimination Against Tribal Energy Projects

Currently, Native American tribes aren't eligible for the federal
production tax credit available to non-tribal project owners under law.
Without this 2 cents per kWh tax credit, most wind farms just can't get
built. The result, and it has already started, is that most commercial
scale wind development on tribal reservations won't be native-owned. The
Great Plains tribes have excellent wind resources on their reservations,
and they have a historic opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty
with the wind. Because of the federal tax code, the opportunity remains
    just out of their reach.
You can help change that! Two bills, S.2520 and the H.R. 1954
propose changing the tax code to allow tribes to benefit from the tax
credit. Please encourage your representative to push these bills forward
and help change the course of history!

can I post this on my Pauley Perrette -myspace? Most of my friends there are americans...

I watched the news today and saw that Canada started seal hunting season again and I was disgusted. So this is my answer to that (I know it is offensive but also so true):

Re: Help to save nature !

    newnativspirit - 02.04.2008, 14:19

of course you can post it on your myspace !!!

Liadan, I agree with what you said about seal hunting, it's truly awful.

Here in Australia we are slowly replacing all of our buses and taxis with hydrogen powered vehicles. I think it's a great idea. Do you guys have anything similiar in Europe/the US? I really want to trade my car in for a hybrid too but they're pretty expensive over here.

Re: Help to save nature !

    Idril - 17.04.2008, 12:24

yep, we have that, too. It's expensive, but worth the money. A lot of buses are hydrogen powered by now, but no taxis yet. They still run with gas.
