    Eric Schweig
I'm going to start a thread about Eric because he is one of my favorite actors- not just NA actors. I think he is truely an artist in all sense of the word. His Inuit Masks are exceptional, and in case you have not seen any of them, his website is www.ericschweig.com, then click on the left to see his carvings.

So here is my top 5 fav Eric movies- please feel free to comment on any of them.

    1. Skins
    2. Big Eden
    3. Last of the Mohicans
    4. The Missing (although he completely freaked me out in this one)
    5. Tom and Huck

I'm the youngest, so I always wanted a lil' sis to torture!!

Eric was WONDERFUL as Uncas, and even as Rudy in Skins he was still hot in a more mature way. He is aging quite well, but he's only 39 y/o- it's not like he's 60 or something. Sorry if I offend anyone- that's not how I meant it. I can't wait to see One Dead Indian, and then he has a few projects coming up soon- Commanche Moon miniseries on HBO, and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Those have been wrapped with his parts in them- so he is taking some down time before his next project starts up after the new year. This is all according to his website- not like I'm his friend or anything. Wish I was, but alas, not so.

I've only seen Eric in Mohicans and ITW, both of which I really enjoyed.

I know that Mohicans was a long time ago and he was a lot younger then, but I was quite surprised to see how different he looks now compared to back then. Hasn't he cut his hair too?! :P

Eric was nominated at the AIFF this year for "One Dead Indian" (so was Dakota House), but couldnīt go there, because heīs working on "Bury my heart at Wounded Knee". Forgot to ask Nadja, if he won - lol - I was so happy, because I thought that Nadja will get to talk to him ... well, he knows about NNS, because I know one of his friends and he is very interested in coming to Germany. Yet I couldnīt convince him to get promoted in Europe - heīs a very cautious person and Iīm not even allowed to put up a pic or any kind of info on him. Thatīs what his liaison told me last year. I have no idea if this was his own decision - thatīs why I wonīt give up ...

    Re: Eric Schweig

Is The Missing a film about Natives, or does it just have native actors in it? Maybe I'm confusing it with something else. Is this the one Tommy Lee Jones is in?

    Re: Eric Schweig

    Idril - 25.11.2006, 12:33

Yeah, Tommy Lee Jones is in it. Cate Blanchett also. The dauther of Cate Blanchett's character is kidnapped by a few Natives. Her father (who traveled with the Natives for a long time) helps her to find her daughter. On their way they meet Jay and Simon.

Hey, I hired the film last night. It was a really good movie! I was thinking of another Tommy Lee Jones movie, that's why I was confused. I was thinking of The Fugitive *lol* Simon looks like a real sweetie Idril.

    Re: Eric Schweig

Yeah, he does. But in that scene where they meet with Cate Blanchetts character for the first time (where he catched a shot) he doesn't look like a sweetie at all.... :(

But hopefully one day I will be allowed to put up more than only the link!
One of his best friends told him about NNS and he was very interested in coming to Germany/Europe - so all this liaison would have to do is tell him that I want to talk to him about this ... but she wonīt for some reason. But I wonīt give up and try it again in a few. I was hoping that much that he would be in San Francisco ... Nadja could have talked to him and everything would be ok ...

I applied for Eric's board over a month ago, and still have not been approved. It's really weird how they have it set up- but hey, that's their perogative. I'm not some stalker, I just want to be a part of his board for chit-chat (like this one  ). The best thing I can think of is to write L (this is his Liason, L, or Elle as she is known on the board) and tell her about your board. Ask her to come check it out and also tell her about your site. She will probably research it and then pass the info on to Eric. It seems from her posts that she talks to him at least once a week. Eric is in Vancouver, B.C. and I think L may be in Conneticut. I know he is a very private person and doesn't like the drama on his board. There are a few topics that have been opened up for guests to post in, without being a member of the board. There is also a section for you to send a note to Eric that non-members can post in. I haven't yet because I really don't know what to say to him. I'd like to ask about his art- but it's a note only section and not for Q&A.

Yes Eric is very sweet, and that really adds to his whole sexiness.

They both do know about me and NNS. First time Iīve been in contact with them was like 1 1/2 year ago ... I asked L if I would be allowed to put up some info on Eric in German and they both canīt see that there is an interest in Eric and his work as an actor and carver in Germany plus itīs forbidden by law to put up info without written permission to protect the internet users. So I had to accept it and I still do. Well, but I know from this friend of mine that Eric is very interested in coming to Germany!!! So I leave L out of this and try to do it my way. Please, donīt tell her about NNS - she might get it wrong and the best thing that can happen is that Eric gets aware of NNS by talking to his friends (also to Adam Beach). A lot of actors already know about NNS and are interested in working together - so it will maybe just take some time. So please, donīt mention NNS to people like L - I would prefer to speak to Ericīs agent regarding this more than getting L involved again. Thank you!

Not a problem- I don't like to get in other people's business. Just thought maybe I would offer another outlet. But it seems that you have tried this route, and to no avail. I do hope Eric hears from Adam about the board and your website. Maybe the reason he is not interested in Europe, is because he isn't fully aware of how many people over there respect his culture and talents. The manager route sounds like a good idea too. He may think you are just some fan wanting to con him into coming to Europe, and I'm sure he doesn't want a stalker!!  I say this only because of some of the posts on his site- I think he may have a stalker in training on there.

He is interested in coming to Europe and this friend of mine told him about my company - so he knows.
Iīll send an official offer to his manager introducing myself and my company. Plus I hope that he will get aware of it on many other ways. I know that people are talking about NNS in the States and that they are curious about it. So it will just take me some more time to make them trust me. Of course, they need to be cautious and have to make sure that Iīm not just a fan ...

but thank you for your offer to help me!

Hi to everyone here. Thought I would pop in and say hello. Nice site Annette.

I'm sorry that I just learned of this site today. Had I known of it's existence before last Sunday, I would have invited all fo you to the live chat we had with Eric. It was open to everyone to particpiate, even non members.

    Annette, you wrote:
Code:  Yet I couldnīt convince him to get promoted in Europe - heīs a very cautious person and Iīm not even allowed to put up a pic or any kind of info on him. Thatīs what his liaison told me last year. I have no idea if this was his own decision - thatīs why I wonīt give up .

Yes, it did come directly from Eric. Next chat I will personally let you know so you can ask him yourself, live and in person so to speak, LOL.

We don't want incorrect information on this site or any other. Eric did not say he does not want to get promoted in Germany. Eric looks forward to visiting Germany some day as he knows he has fans there. What he said was that he was not interested in entering into a relationship with anyone he did not personally know as I am sure everyone here can understand. Eric has many exclusive contracts for the sale of his artwork, memorabilia, and pictures. That is why we could not allow you to put pictures up that are on our site. All of those belong to people who have exclusive copyrights to them. We had to ask for written permission to use each one of them. We are not in a position to then allow anyone else to use them.

Also, all artwork sales come through the site. That is why Eric and I suggested you put a direct link or url up to the website. It is really magnificent to be able to see all of his artwork in one place.

Neither Eric or I want anyone to feel as though he has snubbed Germany or his German fans.

We are not sure who your friend Nadja may be, but unfortunately, Eric rarely if ever attends award functions.

Eric has not lived in Vancouver B.C. for about seven years now, but does try to get back there as often as possible because he loves it there.

To those who may be waiting for approval on the message board, please email me when you can and let me know. I have been having trouble with my yahoo account and have not been receiving all my emails.

Oh and if for any reason any of you are too shy to join the board, feel free to stop by and leave a post. The Crossing is now open to everyone to not only read, but to post as well.

While you are there, go in and read the live chat with Eric forum. We have left it up for all to read. Eric even mentions only considering Germany if he were ever to show his art on tour.

Just a side note as I can see what may happen based upon that statement in the chat. Eric is not interested right now in touring with his art. It would take him upwards of a few years to carve enough pieces to tour with if he ever chose to actually go on tour. It is not to say that as time goes by he would not consider doing this, but that time is not now.

Everyone feel freet to stop by the Adam Beach forum. I work for Adam as well. We are going to be revamping that whole area as soon as Adam and Tara open up their new Official Website which is almost done.

Tara, Adam's wife said while she is thrilled Adam has been signed onto Law & Order SVU she felt badly they will not be able to visit Germany for the festitval this year.

Annette, I hope you are doing well. You've done a very nice job with this forum.

Take care all. We hope to see you all over on the Official site.

@ Liaison (in case you are coming back) :

Iīm glad you like this forum. Maybe you want to tell me how you got aware of it.

Thanks for your update on Eric. Iīm glad to hear that heīs thinking about coming to Germany one day. Whenever he decides to tour with his arts, I can send you direct contact info of a few museums who would be interested - not only in Germany. And our next film festival will be in 2009! Gunter Lange, the art director, asked Dakota House for "One Dead Indian". They wanted to show it at the festival last week-end, but they had a misunderstanding. Maybe we can make it for the next festival. Eric can contact me any time, if heīs interested in the festival. If he needs to know me in person before contacting me (lol - donīt get me wrong. I understand why he said that. I prefer working with people I know in person, too), he can meet me at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco this year in November. Iīm just offering my help.

Maybe you can help me with this. I know a fan who wants to send Eric a letter. I really want to help her with that, cause last time I was talking with her, she was very sad and desperate, cause her brother has cancer and it got worse. I donīt even know whatīs going on with her and her family at the moment. She asked me several times where to send a letter for Eric and to be sure that heīll get to read it. It would be nice, if you could tell me what to tell her.

Good to hear that Adamīs new website is coming up soon. Tara didnīt tell me ... thatīs great news!

And yes, please let me know when you plan on your next live chat with Eric. Would be nice to talking with him that way.

Again, thank you for stopping by and letting us know. Iīm sure the fans are glad to hear about all that - so am I.

I hope youīll stop by once in a while and let us know whatīs going on.

Btw. my name is Annegret. But I prefer Anne

    Liaison - 02.04.2007, 01:28

    Hey Anne,

I will discuss the 2009 film festival with Eric. I am guessing everyone would need that much time to prepare.

As far as the young lady that would like to send Eric a letter that he will get himself, she can send it to:

    Eric Schweig Group
    PO Box 786
    Rocky Hill, CT 06067
    USA

All mail that comes into the box gets sorted and whatever mail is for Eric is sent right onto him at the end of the sort. If by chance the young lady does not speak English, it would be wonderful if someone could translate it into English for Eric. Unfortunately he does not speak German.

As far as showing art in Germany, as I said that hopefully will happen but if it does, it will be many years away. Well beyond 2009. Thank you for the offer of help should it come to fruition. We'll let you know if and when that decison is made.

I found out about the site through several sources. One is someone who may be on this board, I don't know. I don't see the name she used with me here. I believe she may have used her real name in the email to me and as always, I never share that information as a courtesy. Prior to that, some friends of ours from your neck of the woods had seen this site. They questioned me about your post that seemed to them to indicate that the information I passed onto you was not from Eric directly. Because they know both Eric and I, they felt it would be best for me to come here to set the record straight. So that you and your board members know for the future, I would never say anything came from Eric if it did not. He and I don't work that way.

By all means, stop by the board. Anything in the public area known as the Crossing or in the news about Eric section is open game. By that I mean, you can feel free to copy and paste it here on your board. We do ask that as a courtesy, you give credit to the Official board./site just as we will always do for you in return.

Again, nice job on the site. I'll pop in when I can and will definately send you info on any live events with Eric.

    Take care.

yes that is how I took it because remember when they were at the river the first time and had to make the climb - he showed a picture of him and then Alice - also in the cave when he was on watch she ventured out too far and he grabbed her back and held her....it's a shame those two had to die...but it is an exceptional movie. Just wait till you see Bury My Heart
