Hey peoples. Ive been asked by a few mages in the guild what my spec is, and over the past week-2weeks I have tried lots of different builds, and I thought I'd share what I found here.
Info: I have +316 spell damage, 3.4k health and 5.3k mana (with my int buff)
Arcane Power/Frost Build

It was good fun... amazing 2k crits with an instant frostbolt if needed, but really limited for PvP and PvE in my opinion. For PvP, if you didn't have your cooldowns you could well be screwed.
Arcane/Fire

This build can seriously own 1 on 1, especially if you get the crits and especially if you have Presence of MIght cooldown. I dont know though, I just really didn't like it that much. For PvE you're basically gonna be nuking with score/fireball, but its usable, you will just run out of mana easy.

Its amazing the casting time difference between 2.5 and 3 sec, it can make all the difference. Using fireball as a nuke really didn't work out and I found with this I was going out of mana so easily. Wouldn't reccomend.

This is about the most versatile build I have used. Its nice for PvP although not amazing against casters some of the time. For PvE it is very nice though, with clearcasting and frost channeling I found it hard to go out of mana, and Cone of Cold will still crit nice.

A slight modification of the build I started out with and what I am using now. Its not mana efficient at all, but for PvP it really owns, and if you know me you'll know that I am quite into PvP :P. Using the build is harder than some of the others which are a bit more straight forward but once you get it you can beat most classes with ease if you play right. (Locks are still a pain though :P)
