From November to Christmas there will be a huge revolution in PC technology. Many recent games have taken one hell of a leap in graphics and physics. This leap means that when AMD release its Quad Core cpu and Nvidia and ATI release their direct X10 cards that if we wanna play any new games that we are going to have to buy these components. Now if it was simply a matter of upgrading just these two components then id be way on board but as we are all aware motherboards will need changing, which means that RAM will probably need changing and omg will it never end lol.
If i had the money i wouldnt mind but as i spent 1k on a rig last christmas its not really a thing im happy about doing lol. Its been reported that the 8 series nvidia cards will retail at 650dollars. With this in mind we all best start saving up if we wanna play FS:X with no problems lol.
Lets hope pc's will last longer this time!!

im happy with my laptop right now. I can run my FS9 and FS8 on it and also some SWAT 4. Its all i need, once im workin i dont have time for big games anyways :)

To be quite honest: If you have a dual core cpu you will be fine for a while, this is just meant to scare you JourneyMan
e.g. I'm still on Athlon XP 2400+ and I can run source at 40 fps (All my games seem limited to 40 though)
I plan on upgrading to dual core intel for christmas, so if quad core will be needed then they can screw themselves rofl trying to force people to buy stuff :)
