yes, i learn japanese in school for 2 years, My teacher is a real japanese, she's from Osaka and really proficient and gently, but i think those are all japanese. ;)
Moreover i have a real good friend, which is living in Tokyo. She's helping me with the language, too.

oh! you're so lucky. I don't have japanese in my school. but i'm learning italian. Japanese is hard right? or no.
cause you also have kanji in japanese as well as some other langauges.
Wow, coolie. got a friend living in Tokyo.
I always wanted to go to Tokyo. It's like the second New york. Well to me.
    ALOT of people and things!
Some of my friends want to go as well.

    ;ㅁ;
Well, no Japanese in my school either.

I'm a Korean who is living in America since last year,
and in Korea , it's mandatory to learn Chinese (kanji)
which drove me crazy ~~~ (but it really helped me out for Japanese)

I watch tons of Japanese dramas, movies, and listen to songs ..
and it was really easy for me to learn how to speak Japanese (even though I cannot write them down lol)

cuz Korean and Japanese both use Chinese in the languages
and the pronounciations are very similar .
Itz very interesting that we have lots of words that mean the same thing and exact same pronounciations.

just like English users easily learn Spanish or Latin cuz of the root words .
(or maybe a little different cuz I never understand Chinese @_@ ;;; They speak very fast and the pronounciations sound weird to me)

    ah! cool you're korean.
and now in Ameria. In school you have to take like a English second langauge thing?
I used to, even though i'm born in America. THey though english was my second langauge cuz they saw i was asian or something. lol
    ....um....anyways....

Well, i'm part Vietanese and Chinese :)
i should ask my mom to teach me chinese then
since it's smiliar to japanese and koran. I knew it was
they got it from chinese but never thought that
it's the same. or a little.
i used to go to a chinese school where they taught us
how to write it. but then all of sudden NO MORE!?

yes i watch lots of japanese movies listen to japanese music and such. ( japanese drama is good  i like some)

    -eats some M&M's~

    ;a;
nope - I go to a private school cuz I'm an international student,
and we don't have any ESL class.
but I didn't think I need to take it, anyway .

    and you are partly Chinese?
    that's cool ~
I always wished I was a mixed person, I'm 100% pure Korean (boring-)

yeah, and I never thought Chinese sounds similar to Korean either.
But the only word I think it has similar pronounciation was "觀光",
which means visiting other countries for fun.

ask your mom how to say it,
cuz it was really similar to how Koreans say it.
    It's "관광" in Korean,
and it sounds like "Gwan Gwang" (if I spelled it properly;;;)

PS. can you ask your mom how to say "微妙"?
cuz both Korean and Japanese say it like "mii myo", but I have no idea how Chinese people pronounce.

    oh cool me too
well catholic school that's same as private i think
    just no religion class.
and i go to an all girls catholic school
    T_T
Esl that's a long time ago for me. when i was 5 years old. but they still have tat i think
yes i'm partly Chinese from my mom's side of the family
    but that's cool you're Pure korean...like a purebreed!
    lol
    i like korean!!
i had 4 close friends and my best friend wished she's japanese. me-korean, other friend- twianese and another he wish he was English (london)
    so i think you're cool!

sure i'll ask my mom about that.
    ...later she's not home now.
how you type those ? ( the chinese and korean) you have another langauge program installed in your computer?

    Re: japanese anyone?!

    enco0326 - 06.10.2006, 06:10

    aha-
    Oh, yeah.

I can type Korean, English, and Chinese by using a normal keyboard ☆_☆

um, by changing a special feature or something , I can type Korean simply after pressing the right alt button. and I can type English after pressing it once again.

And we have to type the Korean pronounciation of Chinese words first, and press the right Ctrl button for each letter.
then the whole bunch of Chinese letters for that pronounciation appear at the right side of the monitor, (with definitions)
and I choose one of them to write Chinese.

I think we can write Chinese cuz a lot of Korean words have more than one meaning. so we can find out the difference by looking at the Chinese.

For example, the word "mii myo" , has two different meanings in Korea.
It's either 微妙 or 美妙 and although they have different meanings it's both 미묘 if I write them down in korean.
what Koreans usually do is write like this.

    미묘 (微妙)
    미묘 (美妙)

so people can see the difference between these two words.

also sometimes people just make up words and they want others to know the right definition for it.

미묘 (美猫) - it means beautiful cat and I just made up this word by using "beautiful" and "cat".

    it's a tricky concept for a foreigner to understand , isn't it ? '-' ;;

Oh wow, i'm really impressed about those things you're talking about.
I can't neither japanese nor chinese or korean, so all these kanji looks to me like any signs. :?
You're right, enco, it's really tricky for a foreigner to understand this...but it's totally fascinating!!
I wish i would know some japanese, chinese or korean...

lol, well if you're learning either of those you have to learn kanji. And if you want you can always learn.
They have those cds and books not for many langauges. So you can learn a lot from those. But better to have someone teach you. Well, that's what i think. Anyways

    oh really?

    me try!
    -push right alt-
it don't work for me...oh well
    that's cool you can though.

Sometimes i wonder how chinese people type chinese when the keyboard is in english . I see in movies.
They also combine some letters to make a word too.
like e and a and get something. I not sure.

Kind of confusing but i think i get what you mean
I think...i don't know. It's good to know more then one langauge.
I heard some people said japanese is hard to learn because of all the kanji. And it's not fun. well, it does contain hard work , but then again nothing is easy.
    :!:

It's a dream of me to learn japanese sometime, but i think it would be to hard for me to learn all the kanjis. I'm not real good in learning languages, so i think, this only will be a dream, which i can't make true.-.-

    But that's life...

Ehrm, I speak a little Japanese. I learn it for two years now. My teacher is a real Japanese. Her name is Mrs. Kawashima. Well, I don't know how good my Japanese is, but at least I can express a few things I want to say and it's getting more and more. So I'm quite hopeful that someday I'm really able to speak fast and more or less fluent.
