    Hi ya again,

I still can only peek in here at work, due to being bombarded with
lots of pop-ups and viruses since my computer got hit by lightning and I am only left with an ancient laptop.

Anyway, good to see you again and hope all is well with everyone.

I loved the new video.....it's a shame it's available on U Tube and not on the official site, or did I miss it ?

I still like the song, and think it resembles a Chicago (the group) song especially the horney horns.

    Love,
    Lin xx

    Hi Lin!
Sorry, you still got some trouble with the site :? Would like to help you out on that but I'm afraid I don't know how!?!?

RE: The video... I don't know, but maybe they'll put it on the official site as well some time around release date?!?! I'm not sure either but I guess it must have been someone from official site who put it on YouTube. (Who else could have had their hands on that video that early?) I've noticed that many artists use that page to promote their singles nowadays. It's easy to use for anybody with a broadband connection and it doesn't steal bandwith of the artists homepage ;) <-- looks like some very good reasons to put it there first, doesn't it?
I really can't wait to buy the Single CD :D

Hi all~ I have been missing lately form here and the Offical Boards~ life is just too busy with the girls heading back to school and I am in full marathon training mode. I need to get over to the offical boardsa nd see whats going on!

As for tickling the ivories~ nope. BUT~ my daughter starts lessons tonight so I have the feeling I will be playing more in the future.

How's the bass going Shan. And the sax for you Michi? Lyn, so good to see you as well.

I'll try to pop in more often.

    hugs to you all~

Really can't believe it, but somehow the 3 concerts I've been to had some astonishing late but positive side effect. :D I practiced on my lil sax the last two weeks so much more than in the whole last year  And it's really fun :D
I can't tell you how much I enjoy it and I really have to take care that I don't bite through my lower lip :doh

Yeah, I think you really should spend some time tickling the ivories! Making some music is so much fun - also if it's not even rudimentary as perfect as the music presented by our fav band ;)

    Hey Angie!
Yes, it is back to school time, hope the girls have a good year. And good luck with your marathon training! Which one(s) are you running soon?

Hope you get back on that piano. Encourage good habits in your little one. :D

How's the bass goin'? Limping along as I change locales every week or so and get my schedule disrupted...but have a few days here of total peace and quiet, gotta break that up. Have my combo amp in tow, that should do the trick. :devil

Pop in when you can, sounds like you have a full plate. Thanks for stoppin' by!

    Love and peace, Shannon

Glad you're back on your golden foghorn, Michi! :D The boys DO have that effect, don't they?
Learning any SR stuff? I'm determined this week to finish up that damn transcription of "More" so I can try and play it, see how far off I am...plus finish off learning "Fake" from my 'Home' songbook (that I paid $30 for in England--was 15 quid--so worth it though, it's my fave SR album and the sheet music wasn't released in the States).
Next SR bass line...hmmm...not sure. There's so many awesome ones to choose from... 8) :rock

Would love to, but I need some good notes for saxophone. I'm not good in improvising so I really need some peace of paper with a few black lines which always come in groups of five and some fly shit on it ;)

I've got a songbook for the old songs from Picture Book to A New Flame but it's a bit useless for my saxophone as it's written for piano/guitar/etc. Would need to transcribe it BUT that's definitely not how I want to spend my free time
Wouldn't it be great if you just have to put the book on a scanner, the scanner sends it to your computer and you tell the computer to transcribe it for you?!? THAT would be cool 8)

Btw. about two weeks ago I saw the songbook of L&RW @ our local music store... It was cheap 'cause it looked like it stood there for ages ... however, I didn't buy it, 'cause it's not really my fav album AND it looked used already (oh, and there were no pics inside :().

   I've never heard sheet music described that way, but DAMN that's funny!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!

You mean transcribe from the sheet music or from ear? Seems like transcribing from ear would be your best bet for learning Ian's solos--I'm sure they're not written into that music anywhere, and if they are, they're probably a shadow of their former selves. That sheet music is only a guide...I have to look at the bass piano part and determine what to do with it. Sometimes I have to transpose it up an octave, sometimes I need to embellish it with slides or what have you that aren't written in...it's either that or scare up the bass tab books, and I don't read tab. (My teacher would scold me. )
There IS software out there that will break down a piece of music you play into it and transcribe all the bits for you so you can print out the sheet music--but it's pretty expensive. It's fun to play with though, used it in a music technology class at college.

I'd say go grab that for me as I don't have it yet...but that's not my fave album either, and besides, a lot of the bass in there was done on keyboard. Philistines.  That's what they get for letting Steve go off touring with the Spice Girls. That era was just so wrong in so many ways. :flop :motz   I'm glad things are right once again!!! :D

    There's not really any pics in any of the books except what you find in the album sleeve, and bare minimum at that. Just lots of lines and fly shit. :-}
