    All you need to know!
    Behaviour:
Our members are expected above all to behave with taste and decorum. Members should treat one other, and everyone else, with respect and civility, in all situations. Members found to be insulting and poorly behaved will be admonished, and if necessary, removed from the guild.

Guild members should behave with kindness and consideration towards other people on the server. If you are publically causing a problem in a general chat in any zone, a raid group, out-of-game forums, or any other situation, you are causing a problem for the guild, as well, and that will be dealt with. A little razzing we can handle, but if you are being deliberately insulting and harassing, rude or uncouth, that will not be tolerated.

Members attempting to 'start something' with another guild, will quickly find themselves guildless. We have no interest in childish rivalries, we do not care if their dad can beat up our dad and you disagree. If a particular member of a particular guild is a problem, that person is a problem, not his entire guild; even if that person is the leader of the guild.

When you are in a group which is not run by the guild, you are expected to strictly follow the rules laid out by the group, and the directions of the party/raid leader. Offer advice politely and with confidence if you have a degree of authority on the matter at hand and it is requested, but do not hijack someone else's raid. Requiem members should be able to group seamlessly. Teamwork is essential and you must be able to manage it without reminders.

Likewise, if you are running a non-guild raid, do so with strength and confidence, but not blindly. Lead well, and handle disputes gracefully, with a fair and even hand. You are representing the guild from a position of authority, and your actions reflect on us all.

Should you be in a position to offer advice to another player, do so politely and without overt arrogance. Do not insult or belittle their choices or talent build, but point out advantages to other builds if you wish to do so.

    Activity and Participation:
To be successful in this game, you must of course play it. We expect members of Requiem to be active players, but we do not expect you to be present 8 hours per day, 7 days a week. If you are on infrequently enough that we never get the opportunity to know you, you probably shouldn't be in this guild in the first place. Accounts which have not been active for an extended period of time may be pruned from the guild list to keep our guild data accurate. We expect to be part of raids from 19.00 to 23.00 GMT+1 (server time).

Extended absences are a reality of life. We have several members who go on multi-week business trips and we are very understanding about this. Please post in the forum if you plan to be gone for an extended time (officers, please give as much notice as you can). If something comes up and you are unable to notify us of an absence prior to your return, simply contact an officer if you have been removed from the guild, and if the officers agree, your membership may be reinstated.

Of course, if you are logged in, we expect that you will spend a fair portion of your time partied with guild members and participating in guild events, especially when you reach the upper level ranges. If you are continuously ignoring guild raids and events and are always off doing your own thing, declining invitations even when your class is needed, and overall not really being a part of the guild, you may want to consider finding some other guild to ignore.

Reading and posting in the guild forum is also a method of participation which we encourage. Our forums are not so overwhelming that your post will be lost in the shuffle; everything will be read and considered. And participate in guild chat, please, so we get to know you. Silence is not entirely golden. But it is sometimes valued, so please don't constantly fill guild chat talking to yourself or conducting conversations with a single person which would be better carried out via whispers or party chat. We have established a voluntary guild chat channel with more lax restrictions.

    Attaining Guild Rank:
New members will begin as initiates. During this time period, officers will make an effort to party with you, and review your playing style. They may offer advice or make observations. After a week or two as an initiate, the officers will determine whether or not you are acceptable as a guild member, and you will be promoted to full member, removed with our regrets, or remain an initiate for a brief period of further evaluation.

Please do not ask to be promoted. It won't help. There's nothing terribly fascinating about being an officer anyway. If you want to be an officer, *be* one. Lead effectively, work well with others, take initiative, help people, group outside the guild and be generous and kind and extremely competant. Do the things we expect of our officers, and trust us, we'll notice, and respond.

Existing officers, of course, aren't off the hook. Officers need to maintain the sorts of activities that define them as officers. Officer rank is a recognition of ongoing excellence, not a one time reward that cannot be rescinded.

    Selling to Members
The guild chat is not the trade channel. If you frequently spam it trying to sell items to guild members, we will not be pleased. But an occasional item is acceptable. You may wish to check who is online to determine whether it's worth bothering the guild over something no one online would be at all interested in (ie, selling a cloth item when no cloth wearers are on). As a whole, though, we'd prefer you not try to sell in guild chat. We get enough spam elsewhere.

If you are selling an item to a guild member, outside the auction house, we expect the price to be fair. Your guildies are not the place for you to make a 500% profit over cost.

Posting items in guild chat and offering them at no charge to members is fully acceptable. Members should only take those items if they intend to equip and use them... if we find that you have accepted an item from another member and sold it, no one is going to be pleased. The same applies to disenchanting, unless you specify that is what you want it for and the member giving it out agrees. Be up-front with everyone and we won't have any problems.

On crafting... if you are a crafter and a member gathers all of the reagents needed for a particular item, you are encouraged to do it for free; and the member is encouraged to tip you. That includes enchanters. If you feel the need to charge guild members who have gathered all the needed items, there are plenty of other crafters in the guild who will not do so, and we trust you will understand if members are reluctant to support the advancement of your profession.

    Regarding Alternative Characters
Many people enjoy occasionally playing on a different class and have one or more alternate characters. Once you have passed the initiate stage, we encourage you to bring your alternate character into the guild. If you are welcome here on one character, you are welcome on both of them. Only 1 Alternative Character is allowed!!!

We do encourage you to choose one character and dedicate the majority of your time to reaching 60 on that character. That will help the guild, and help you at the same time... it's much easier to level one character at a time, and as a 60 you can much more easily gain the best level-appropriate gear for your alt.

If you prefer to house your alternate characters in another guild, whether on a permanent or temporary basis, of course, you are welcome to do so. But don't play recruitment officer for that guild in our guild chat.

    On Recruitment:
When you want to become a member you have to react when you notice we have an opening for your class. We require every recruit to post an application in our recruitment forum. Adding extra information besides the questions we ask is always usefull.

It is also recommended to contacted one of our officers, (Degradator, Kalmec, Eveline or Ryno) and make your interest known to us. After this we will discuss your application and if all goes well you are invited to join us as an applicant.
Be advised that during times when we are not actively looking to fill out a certain class in particular, your application can remain pending on our boards until the time comes when seek you out.

As an applicant you have to show us not only that you know your class but also that you are the right person for our guild. And while we will try to get to know you, it is up to you to make sure that we do not forget you are around.
So ask questions! We don't expect you to know everything about every encounter the moment you begin raiding with us. Everyone had to learn at some point. Asking questions is a good thing. Your group members and other members of your class (who may well have a class channel for you to join)

and most important your class leader, will be able to help you, and will save the raid leaders/officers from being distracted. Asking shows initiative, willingness to learn and reflects well on yourself, don't be afraid!

You are expected to join every raid we do without getting any loot. Loot for a trialist is a bonus if you get lucky.

Loot (more on how we as guild handle loot later) will always go to members of the guild before recruits. If an item drops that none of the members wants, that item will be awarded to one of the trialist, or simply rolled for. In short ... Raiders > Members > Trialist.

If you have been a recruit for 2 weeks, we will put a final vote about you on our internal boards. This vote will take a couple of days and end in the final answer on wether or not you will become a member of Sanitarium. If you fail the vote you will be given feedback on why you failed and you will have to leave us.

Recruitment in Requiem is never 100% closed for those that show outstanding skills and as such we have a backdoor to allow those exceptionally gifted to become a member.
It requires you to show us that we can not pass on you as player. You will have to find a way to show this while you are not allowed to raid with us (raids are reserved for members and recruits even when we have less then 40 online).

At times we might invite more recruits than we have slots available for membership and in those cases we will decide who can stay and finish the recruitment process and who does not

    On Removal from the Guild:
On occasion, a member will warrant removal from the guild, either from ongoing behaviour problems, or single actions of sufficient magnitude. Removal may be discussed among the officers, but ultimately decided upon and executed by the co-leaders of the guild. If you have been removed from the guild or left yourself and wish to return, you are treated again as a new trialist. We do however rate your application based on historic events. So don't expect to be welcome after ninja-ing!

    These Rules:
That said, no one likes a rules lawyer. Things can be flexible, and nothing is entirely black and white. As a whole, Requiem is a laid back, mostly casual guild of friendly people, free of drama and petty despotism. We joke around, and have a good time, and encourage you to do the same. The leaders have no interest in ruling with an iron fist, and the officers are not the gestapo. What these rules basically come down to are this: Don't make things unpleasant for us; dont make things unpleasant for other people while you have our guild tag under your name. If you stick to that, things should be ok.

    TeamSpeak:
You will have to download TeamSpeak and be on it at every 20 man or 40 man raid. If u are not on TeamSpeak noone wil type the tactics for you and you might Wipe the Raid witch is a big problem. To avoid such of unpleasure things we expect from all players that are in Raid group to be present on TeamSpeak!
