I would like to have a rule on this matter :)
If I have sign-up for a Raid (and if not been accepted by raidleaders) in 24 h before the Raid starts.
Can I presume that I do not "have to" be on standby for possible free spots?
I do not think this is a problem for Druids and other none so active classes, but for us (=Warriors, not MT:s) in 20 ppl Raids you can find your self on the "waiting list" untill the last minutes.
This, at lest for a familyman as myself, some times makes IRL problems.
I love to Raid, but so do many other warrior in this Guild.
I accept a "this Raid is not for You this time", that is not a problem :D , but I like to know how to plan my time.
By the way, why is it not a must to sign-up for a Raid? It would be much easier for all parties, raidleaders as well as players.
Of course "free spots" should always be filled with players that is on-line when the Raid starts!
Hope to get a ruling soon :?

Normally I try to accept warriors the day before a raid, so you can plan your time.
But planning a raid is not as basic as just accepting classes, for example if only a few locks comes to MC we have to bring more warriors (so we can take down Garr). Also sometimes people have been accepted but do not show up for the raid. That means that we have to bring someone to compensate for it. That is why we sometimes ask people shortly before raid start, if they want to join, even if they were not accepted for the raid.
But if you have not been accepted the day before, feel free to do something else. If you want to be "standby" go ahead, if not that is also okay.
Regards
Guderian

Thank you Guderian for a quick answer, and a ruling, to my question :D :D
I do not want to find my name on the "Did not show up list"
We oldies like rules, or then not....

We try to accept people for raids at least 24 hours before invites start. To give us (the council) a chance to do this, you are supposed to sign up for raids at least (!) 36 hours in advance, so we can see what people we have to choose from, and put up an optimal raid group.
Generally, if you're not accepted for a raid the evening before the raid starts, you're free from your obligation to join, just like you should not expect a spot in the raid if you're not accepted at that point.
If you have been accepted for a raid, and is not online 15 minutes after invites, your spot will be given to someone else, and you should expect some kind of consequences for not showing up.
Ps.
Sometimes raids are posted with a rather short warning, in such cases, the above general rules regarding what time to sign, etc. do not apply in their full content.
