Also alles in allem meine Lieblingsband. Kann ich mir zwar auch nicht den ganzen Tag anhörn,..obwohl,..doch kann ich. Gehört eigentlich ins Progressive-Metal-Unterforum, weil Opeth nur Death Metal-Einflüsse benützt; doch gibbet hier besagtes Unterforum (noch) nicht.

Most of all, I would like to thank the fans from the depth of my heart for the support throughout the years. I wish Mikael, Martin, Per and Axe all the best and I am confident they will continue doing the greatest music in the world!"

Frontmann Mikael Akerfeldt dazu: „Well, I think it's too soon right now to fully be able to explain what I feel. Peter and I had been working in this band together for almost half of our lives and we shared some unforgettable experiences together all over the world. We will obviously remain friends and this “break up” has been on very good terms from both sides. We all wish him the best of luck with his future ventures! “
OPETH arbeiten derzeit an einem neuen Album welches vermutlich Anfang 2008 das Licht der Welt erblicken wird.

Dann bin ich mal gespannt, was da noch kommt.
Zu Opeth überhaupt: Das Konzert im Dezember war eines der besten, denen ich jemals beigewohnt habe. Die Stimmung, die sie in ihrer Musik transportieren, ist atemberaubend.

Meine Einstigesband in die härteren gefilde.... neuere Sachen, ab und einschliesslich damnation finde ich leider sehr schwul. von daher juckt mich drt Ausstieg auch nicht so!

höre opeth nur noch sehr, sehr selten, eine gute band ist es trotzdem!
auch die damnation ist in ordnung meiner meinung nach, das sie als schwul bezeichnet wird, kann ich aber durchaus nachvollziehen!
wenn man so ein album macht, muss man damit rechnen, dass es vielen alten fans nicht gefällt.
das beste album ist meiner meinung nach my arms, your hearse.
Auch live ist die band einfach nur genial, hab sie 2005 im underground gesehen - das war für mich bis zu dem zeitpunkt das beste konzert auf dem ich war.

Ich frag mich was an diesem Album eine Enttäuschung ist?
Damnation ist für mich das musikalischste Album der ganzen Band Diskographie!
Und das dann auch noch als schwul zu bezeichnen,pah!
Spiel erstmal das nach was er da auf der Gitarre zaubert!
Davon abgesehen empfehle ich nur die DVD,die ist echt gut.

Das was der da spielt, kann ich auch. Darum geht es ja aber garnicht. Ich finde die platte halt schwul, die ist mir zu proggy. von ner anderen Band hätte mir die platte sicher durchaus gefallen, aber den damit eingeleiteten Stilbruch kannst du nicht leugnen. Die Platte klingt eben nicht mehr folkig und verspielt, wie die alten Opeth Sachen oder eben so speziell, wie Sachen wie "Face of Melinda" oder "Benighted" sondern es ist eifnach vile erwachsener und eine reine Progrockscheibe, was man bei den alten Sachen devfinitiv nicht sagen konnte. Nun ist es nunmal so, das ich mir die alten Sachen besser gefallen und ich die neuen eben schwul finde - Ich verstehe dein problem nicht. Nur wie ldu die Platte magst ? :P Von mir aus - Aber die ist schwul!

Das nenne ich mal ein Wort!
Schwul hat damit gar nichts zu tun.In dem Falle wären nämlich alle Kiffer schwul ;)
Ausserdem waren Opeth schon immer mehr oder wenig proggressiv.
Wenn dir das vorher nicht aufgefallen ist,dann tut es mir wirklich leid.
Opeth hatten auch schon auf mehreren anderen Platten akkustische Lieder,zum Beispiel auf Mourning Rise!Und die sind auch nicht "schwul".

Ich höre selber jahrelang Prog, die alten Sachen waren eifnach anders Die neuen sind eifnach schjwul - wo liegt euer Problem ?
