I did this for my junior English class. It was....amusing.
Just Friends:
Kissing in the rain
With a pretty friend
Don’t ask her name
This is just pretend
I don’t want to go home
I just want to be free
This beneficial thing
Well, it just ain’t me
She can’t stay too long
She’s got places to be
For now we’re fooling around
Just her mouth and me
We pull apart too fast
So why the fuck am I here?
I need to have this last
Alone is all I fear
We both get high from the sight of the sky
With just friends I can get by
But there’s so much, though, about her I don’t know
Commonality’s just for show
Driving home in the dark
Can’t get her out of my head
Shifting left and right
In my narrow bed
Can this be love I feel?
Care for somebody else?
Something to inspire me?
Break me off from myself
It doesn’t matter I guess
We’ll just be friends in the end
Awkward looks and hearts
Beating at time spent
We both get high from the sight of the sky

What am I to do?
I have nothing to show for what I have done

I go about my motions
Everyday simple things
Wake up, eat, wash, drive
Smile, frown, laugh, reserve
I might love

But do I care?
I am unwilling to care.
The muses have left me
