Hi
Ive posted a topic a while back, about getting an autograph. Im going to the summer pops concert on the 19th, i know that the artist entrance leads more a less onto the main street. Just a question what time do the band usually arrive at the venue? Also i cant really see the band staying very long after the concert, as its a marquee, iv just got to catch the train home afterwards, all i want is a picture with mick. arrrrrrrrrrr

You're asking about two different things here. Mick vs. the band. The band arrive separately from Mick, and turn up between 2 and 4 pm. Mick arrives when he arrives--haven't noticed a pattern--and he's been under heavy security, the only gig any fans saw him at before OR after was Cardiff. You could try for around 5-ish, but chances of meeting with him are pretty slim. Still, it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck!

Hey sam,
With Mick it's a hit or miss if you see him before or after the concert! Like Shannon said, he comes & goes when he wants to and usually not with the rest of SR. He's sneaky!!!! He will enter or exit the venue from a different entrance than the rest of the band and away from the fans, or he will be dropped off or whisked off in a car placed just outside the door where he enters or exits the venue and if he does come out you have wait a long time. Two plus hours!!!
I went to see SR back in Nov 05 and I went to 3 shows and only say him twice after the concerts. At the Manchester Show, he left about an hour after the tour bus left but was in a Mercedes. He just waved to the fans, no pics or autographs. The Oct 30th Royal Albert Hall Show he was a no show after the concert. But thankfully, at the last RAH show on Nov 2nd, he came out for about 5-8 minutes and signed autographs & took pictures. I was lucky enough to get the picture but forgot to ask for an autograph. Everyone fan I talked to did not see him once before these shows. Will you see him??? Well it just depends on your luck. Some fans see him more often than others but what can you do. He does what he wants so hopefully, you’ll be able to meet him before the show. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!
I wish you lots of luck!!! But if you don’t meet him, don’t get too upset! Most likely you'll be able to meet the rest of the band, have a nice chat with them, take pics & get their autographs. All of them are so nice!!! Don’t miss out on meeting them!!!

Shan, Rose Tatoo & I saw Mick both times after our 2 concerts..and had chances at photos both times...he was in no rush.
So like Shan and Di said above...it's hit or miss....but we hit the jackpot! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hi, Samkit! Too bad you can't come to NY - each time Mick's been here (3 times in the past 3 years), I've met him each & every time & got a photo and an autograph with him. The security guys he has over here seem to be a bit nicer about fans approaching him 8)

*swats* :lol: I HAVE been keeping my ears to the ground, to see if I might thank him for these gigs...but he's been last in, first out every time. The band are a lot more relaxed and don't mind hanging out with fans...maybe 'cause no one pays them any mind usually... :idea:
Put it this way. After Leeds Castle, Mick was out of there immediately after the gig. Some of us stayed by the fence to see if the band might come out--the buses did stay put. As people were walking past, they kept asking if Mick was still around. When we said no, they kept walking. We even said to one lady that there was a chance to still see the band, and she said, "Oh, I don't care, I just want to see Mick." That broke my heart, offended me a bit even.
I mean, I realize Mick is the front man--this is his project, his vision--but those musicians play their ASSES off for us, they deserve some thanks as well. Even if you don't know them...even if you don't want to follow them...the show would not be the same if Mick were up there singing acapella. And this lineup cannot just be replaced at the drop of a hat--they've developed a unique chemistry together, that takes years to build. The sound would not be the same if any of them left.
*sigh* Life as a weird Simply Red fan. :lol:

Only got a couple of minutes but just wanted to add that at venues like the outdoor summer nights concerts it is hardly likely that Mick will wait around, many of these castles/stately homes have limited entrances/exits but as others have mentioned it is hit and miss. Liverpool may be different but I do not know the set up. We were very lucky in Cardiff but he only did a couple, he did not go down the line as he normally does.

Wow!! Pic and autograph each time? I didn't even manage that--good on you! And I wasn't aware of the pic each time--thought it was only one or two. (Knew about the Regis and Kelly pic from last year.)

Well, I have 2 separate Regis & Kelly pics, but the most recent one I didn't get put on a disc, so I can't put it on the computer (remember, I don't have a scanner :cry: ) The one I took of him after his concert in NY in 2003 was just of him signing my stuff, not of the 2 of us. That was the 1st time I met him, so I was completely tongue-tied :P
