I logged onto SR.com earlier this morning at it still had the old look. I just logged onto it again during lunch and it's really looking cool now!! I love it!!!!! I love the darker look and the cool looking graphics. Quite a few of the sections are still under construction but once it's done it will be fabulous. I feel so bad for doubting in the past that this site would not get any better but I was wrong. Looks like things are getting better on SR.com! Yahoo!!!
And it looks like the forumns are going to be added back too!!! I really didn't think that would have happened with all of the problems in the past. But when they do come back, I still would post to michi site too. I love it here!!!!

yes Gina. but after i have listened to the piece of sunrise Sam Kitching left for us in a thread above i think the anarchic design is just what SR site might need for the moment. unless its bad quality sound or some crazy fans singing alng making for a completely new sound of that song on the video. i wonder is anyone`s reading our this thread to enlighten me a bit. have a good time in the tennis camp (even tho i must be a bit late with it now ha)

We just returned from 2 weeks in Alaska and when I just walked in and looked at the Simply Red site I could not believe a new format !!
Seems to have some nice stuff coming soon....

Just checked it out after 4 days' hiatus from the Internet (Liz-Ski's cable modem smoked it due to really bad lightning strike near her house)...nice!!!! Those are some of the pictures from inside the current tour program. There's plenty more nice shots to be had in there. Musicians at work indeed. Great photo shoot.
One small gripe...*ducks, laughing*...those profiles are now over 4 years old. I thought they were going to update them...
Maybe we'll just have to learn more about our fine musicians in a more direct manner... :wink: :D
ROLL ON FORUMS!!!! (which I thought were supposed to be ready by now, but ah well, good things come to those who wait...)

I do think they added "additional" Music clips, such as:
the song from :
DeLovley (I Love You)
and the song from that Robin Williams movie.
If they were on the old site, I don't remember seeing them....
There are also some B sides to songs released as singles.....
again, they may have been there before, not certain.
and Shannon, don't you think the new song sounds a bit
Chicago (style) with the brass section ?
Have not heard the whole song, so I may be "off" a bit....

D'you mean 'Oh What A Girl'? Yeah, that's a good way to look at it...it's the way all the Amplified tracks are, really, they all have some nice punchy brass lines. Excellent use of the full band. :top

You know, I'm having a small problem with the new site.
The Forum Topics just don't allow you to place some topics in the right forum. Maybe that is intentional. I don't know.

The topic selection is pretty sparse. The Games, which we all knew would start up eventually (they're quite popular among the SR crowd) are in...International at the moment. No place else for them to go!
Design--not sure if it was intentional or not, only a few will ever know. The fans weren't asked what they wanted, that much is certain. But hey, we're getting it for free, so...it's not like the SRIS days where, since we were feeding the kitty, we had some leverage in how things were run.
As for some of the content being posted in general...no (public, official) comment. :wink:
I really am glad to see them back, no question...it's the most public gathering place for SR fans, and it's a joy to see so many faces from all corners of the globe. It's been a conduit for some fans in newly-visited places to show their appreciation after all these years. It's a web address the band members can memorize and frequent as they see fit. :wink: :D It definitely has its positives, some things a board like this could never capture.
But is it as fun as it used to be? Nope. I'd be a liar if I said it was. And I couldn't even tell you a single reason why.
Chalk it up to higher-stakes fandom. Which I'll be giving a nice wide berth to, thanks.
We'll see how things play out over the next few months. If they continue in this vein...
