Haltan - 03.10.2010, 16:52Old and Weary I am.
For those of you who do not know me:
My journeys began in Tibia on a safe little island known as affectionately as Rook. My time there was exciting! I learned much under the close instruction of my brother Tribal. We had many great times, but like every child, at some point I had to go out and explore the world. I decided that the best career path for me would be that of the big and strong knight. So I made my decision and made the journey to the vast land known as Main.
Back in that day, it was a very dangerous thing to do. One did not simply go to Main. You had to be prepared. The journey from the temple to the depot was perilous. Luckily, I made it to the depot without dying, but unfortunately, by the time I got there, I was hunted. That lasted all of about 10 minutes.
I spent my time learning my craft, and honing my fighting ability. Soon I was feared by even the best rotworms. At some point, I decided that a life alone was not for me. I joined/helped found a guild known as the Osmanian Atholites, or some similar name. The only thing I learned from that experience, is that there is such a thing called guild chat. What a great thing to have!
One day when I was hunting in Femur Hills, I ran into Tribal my old brother. The odd thing, is that we had lost touch for almost one and a half years. He did not even know if I was the same Haltan that was his brother. After confirming that I am, in fact me, we had a great talk. He convinced me to apply to this wonderful guild he was in called The Tribe. Wanting to be closer to my brother again, I did just that. I was accepted into The Tribe, probably because of his good standing in the guild, and soon became part of the family.
What a wonderful experience it was to be in a family who worked so well together. We had some great times back in that day. One day I felt the need to try and create my own family.
For the rest of you:
Since the day I left The Tribe, my time in this world has been challenging. In the beginning, things were wonderful. I created my own wonderful family. I got to know some really great people. My family was active, and worked very closely to each other. We cared for each other, and protected each other as well as we could. Savage Empire was a good guild. It was based on similar principals as The Tribe. We were neutral, and tried to be helpful to others.
Eventually, as happens with so many guilds, it became inactive. Most of my good leaders retired, and many of my closest friends. I had a hard time even keeping enough leaders, and eventually, just logging in made me sad. Finally, I decided that enough was enough. I would rather let the Empire slip away, then let it go on in such a sad state.
These days I am mostly inactive. So as you judge me for consideration among you, keep that in mind. I do not know if I will ever be fully active again. I kind of like my retirement, and my life is a busy one now. One thing that I do know, is that The Tribe is where many of my friends are. When I log in, it is usually a Tribe member that I end up in a conversation with. Not the old timers that I grew with, but one of the newer ones that I have become friends with since the time I was among you.
About me:
My name is Richard Bernard.
I am now 43 years old. I am a husband and a father.
I am a small business owner, truck driver, owner/operator.
I live in a small village in Ohio, USA.
I am mature, and tend to be a little old fashioned.
I thank you for your time reading this application. Sorry, it ended up being longer than I intended.
yours,

Thumbs up for Haltan :)
I'm happy to see you around again man, and I'm sure others feel the same. Will be great to have you on a guild chat.
Ah and no worries bout inactivity. We all have such periods in our tibian life, but we tend to come back again and again:)
Maybe even this old greenbearded mage will crawl out of this dark, smelly place where he's hiding now:)

Ohoi!
I became active just about when you left the guild. It was nice to see how well the Empire turned out to be, good work there. Too bad it died to inactivity though... I think that's the hardest challenge every guild will face...
I think I speak for most of us when I say, it will be nice having an old Sage back in our rows again. :)

I know the feeling of coming back, my friend.
After getting to know the 'world', I realized the Tribe is the place where I should have never left.
I will be glad to have you on our ranks once again.

I know we haven't spoken for some time. I heard this news you were applying through friends and members. It couldn't have happened at a better time.
I look forward to speaking with you again soon bro. I look forward to spending time with the Tribe once again. We have put in much of our time here, and it's not something we can ever take back. Good friends. Always.
Yours,
