Dear All,
Can somebody help met with the indentification of a P+W radial cylinder?
So far it has been indentified as coming from a 1830-92 engine.
It carries marks 1779 with a "lose" 2 stamped next to it and an inspectors? stamp: 6?|8
The history I know that it's coming from a scrap yard near Haarlem in the Netherlands and looking to the damage it think it had a hard landing on land.
Furthermore I hold it it comes from a DC3 may be shot down during September 1944 Overlord operations whereby pleanty of DC3/C47 were shot down.
Your assistance of linking the cylinder to a plane would be highly appreciated. If you know a resource where to find such information is also very helpful.
