Hey All,
Not aircraft - but interesting none the less.
Here are a couple of photos I took ,nov 2009, of a coastal/beach defense
pillbox at Torcross in South Devon.
It faces west towards Start Point , and has a glorious view of the large wide beaches it defended from sea landing invasion or glider landings.
It is now half full of shingle, and the old mine shaft underneath it doubles
as an overflow for the lake in the village- hence the water flowing out
below it.
On the other side of this rocky outcrop is Slapton Sands, where the
infamous 'Operation Tiger' took place in 1944, during the preparations
for D-Day.
