These two parts - are two halves of a firewall.
They were retrieved from a quarry - where parts from an aircraft disposal site were dumped in late 1940's.
Other parts found at the site include B17, B25, B24, T6, P51 and Airspeed Oxford.
The only marks on these are the stamp and part numbers on the rivetted piece- that do not match any marks I know. It is 1.24m dia
Secondly - there were four engine mounting blocks.
I have cut these off to straighten the panels - the reverse of the larger two have two plates - with wood bolted between them.
Hence I assume it is a wooden winged radial engine aircraft. It does not fit with the Anson, Airspeed genre and most other candidates are 1.4 m dia engines.
Any suggestions?
The other two pictures is of a stainless steel dzus fastened cover - with a 28 code and were painted white/grey - suggests Catalina - but I cannot see where they fit on the aircraft.

I have checked several Catalina books and the part is shown on photographs as an engine cover on the top of the Catalina engine cowl - just as the fairing blends into the wing top.
The firewall remains a mystery.
