    Thiefs FAQ
    Thief FAQ

You want to be a thief or at least interested at? Here you can find the necessary information!

    First have a look here:

    http://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=39

    I. What does a thief?

A thief ambushes other players or caravans (big npc armies lead by a powerful npc hero). Examples for ambushes can be found here: (http://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?warid=8953529 vs. another player) or here (http://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?warid=8984242 vs. a caravan of demons).

II. Why should I become a thief?

    1) For fun: A new segment of the game is opened to you, enabeling to do other battles then hunts, quests or PVP. Most of elite or high level players are members of the Thieves Guild (TG).
2a) For gold: Each successful ambush gives you a little amount of gold, depending on your thief level it can be from about 70 to 400 gold and more (depends on TG level).
2b) For more gold: On Thieves Guild levels 2 and 4 you get a fresh thieves invitation (explained in III.), which you can rent (for about 40,000 gold and more for 2 weeks) or sell (for about 350,000 gold and more) to other players.
    3) For thief artifacts. These powerful arts (see here: http://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=40) are given for reached TG level. For each level you get one coincidental thief art. These can be used in battles or sold for much gold (Look at market for the prices)
    4) For experience and skill points: Each succesful ambush gives you experience points and combat skill points. Defeated caravans from 900 up to 3500 XP. Defeated human players are rewarded with up to 7000 XP and more, depends on how many artifacts the wear.
    5) For initiative: Each TG level gives you a permanent (!) percent point on your initiative. Sounds little, but pay attention to the fact, that a battle between equally strong opponents is decided by their initiative! Who moves first, has a descent adavantage.
    6) For joining special clans. As a thief you can join clans linke "The Brotherhood of Thieves" or "Thieves alliance".

III. How do I become a thief?

There are several ways, in any case you need a thieves guild invitation (TGI, http://www.lordswm.com/art_info.php?id=thief_paper).

This is how you can get one:

    1) You have to be at least combat level 6.
    2) You pay a donation for 80 diamonds to the game (see here: http://www.lordswm.com/hwm_donate_page_en.php), go to the thieves guild (see here: http://www.lordswm.com/thief_guild.php) and buy one. A way only for players with enough real money.
    3) You rent a invitation from the Thief Syndicate, which gives you several possibilities in leasing conditions. The most cheap way. And not only for 24/7 players, the Thief Syndicate gives you the time you need. Most players go the way of renting a TGI.
    4) You buy one from another player. Sometimes you can catch a TGI at the market. This is very expensive though, because a TGI is worth at least 350,000 gold.
    5) Be careful and prepared: A TGI is the most valuable item in LWM. If you don't give a TGI back you've rented, you can get serious gold penalties or even get blocked. Save some money and arts to make your way, most caravans are decent enemies, who often need a full equipped hero to beat them. Look at other thieves' profiles and ambushes to learn about strategies. The best point to start TG is at level 6 (with diamond upgrade) or 7 (without diamond upgrade), at these levels the enemies aren't so hard. It's doable on higher level, but more gold consuming and challenging.

IV. OK, beeing a thief is great. How can I rent a TGI?

    1) Go to our clan description (http://www.lordswm.com/clan_info.php?id=330) or the condition thread in our clan board (http://www.iphpbb.com/board/fs-17203954nx113698.html) and think about, which condition is the most suitable to you. If you want other conditions, feel free to contact EujinSPb-EN, Shebali or LordSchniesel, we will do our best to get in business with you. You have more questions? Feel free to ask!
    2) When conditions are chosen, we usually make a contract in the LWM forum and you will get a TGI.

    V. I've got a TGI. And now?

    1) Go to your inventory, where the TGI should be.
    2) Click on the option "Use". The TGI disappears and you are a member of TG.
    3) If you have arts equipped (at least minimum ap), your health is at 100% and your army is recruited, go to the map. Click on a neighbour country. There should be an new option ("Set ambush"). Click on it: You are in ambush. Now you have to wait. If enough players move on this road, a fight begins. This can last a few minutes, be patient. Hint: The road between Yellow Lake and Great Capital is one of the most frequented roads in LWM, if you set your ambush here, chances are high to catch a caravan or player.
    4) More useful information:
    - You can find a more general Thief FAQ here: http://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=15051
    - If you ambush another human player, he only can see your stats, but not who you are. In the other direction, you can view his profile (Strg and click on the hero). Make use of it.
    - You will face far more caravans then other players.
    - If nothing happens in 15 minutes, you have to create a new ambush. Sometimes, when few players are online, you have to wait a bit more for an ambush, because the chance is directly connected to the numer of players, who travel on the roads.
    - If you have lost an ambush you have to wait one hour before you can create a new one.
    - Caravans are getting harder with each TG and combat level. Some say, the hardest level is combat level 9.
    - In some rare cases you can face 2 players instead of one. Time for a prayer. ;)
    - Read in the forum and ask other players to get more information.

VI. How can I give back the TGI I've rented?

    1) You have to reach TG level 2 (120 successful ambushes) and get a new one. So you don't give back the same TGI you've paid for. In the moment you reach TG level 2 (and later 4) you get a new one. Transfer your new TGI to the leasing player.

Good luck and have fun! :)
