P-51D Gun sight part?
This part comes from Al Koenig's Mustang (38FS/55FG) crashed in Luxembourg on Feb 20 1945.
I believe it's part of the gun sight....

I don't have the manual, but this part says something to me...

Looks like having something to do with ASSEM 106-525162 I posted on this forum; the little cable seems to come around "my" part, and the global aspect of your part is similar (but different) with mine.

your part (106-525162) is the "rudder trim tab rear" (Drum Assembly).
This part looks very similar with the part from Paul :n108:

you can find it on page 90/91, #57 .

Friends,

Another picture showing attachment points for eight (8) very thin cables...so I think it's not from the rudder trim tab. But I can be wrong of course !
