Greating to all Members this Forum.
I am a member of research association "GBHW" ( Gdansk Brethren of Military History) in Poland.
Now we are searching for remains of aircraft B-17 G (?) from 457-th BG
whitch was crashed near town Gdansk, on Apr.9th 1944.
First I send photos parts from B-17 G (?) :
Armour Plate ( size 440 x 270 x 6 mm), parts of engine and diverse
parts with numbers and stamps.
Can you help us to identify these parts and plane?

Hi Adam,
sadly you has post here a wrong link of your parts, but I has open this with the last url on the links.
Why do you think it is a B-17 ?
One of the inspectors stamps show a "H" with two digits and a "RW". This stamp was use by Douglas on C-47 aircraft.

Hallo Nils.
I send once more the photos - I hope correct!
I think we have parts from B-17 because:
1. Parts of engine and valve cover are from a engine R 1820.
2. The exploded ammunition whith we find is from Browning 12,7 mm.
I will be very gratefoul for your help.

thanks for the photos !
Please note, Douglas C-47 was also fitted with Wright Cyclone R-1820-G2 engines. Some types was also fitted with Cal. .50BMG

The ammunition is exploded after the crash by the fire.

As Douglas also made the B17 under licence, is it possible this was fitted to both types?
