yep - for some reason it caught me ... I´m watching some scenes over and over again and feel touched LOL
It´s sad that there are so many good movies only made for TV :(

well, the story is a love story!!! uuuuuh !!! LOL It´s based on a true story ... but actually to get captured by Indians wasn´t that much fun for a white woman :( - it happened a few times and some of them got raped. But then you have to understand that in some tribes men didn´t rape women at all ...
In the movie he (Tokala) had a vision of a white woman with a book and so when he got into a fight with a group of white people and he followed her running away, he saw her holding the bible and didn´t shoot her for he remembered his vision - after she returned to her people he was looking for her (because of the vision) and finally captured her and a friend. The women got forced to live with his tribe and were kind of servants first, but he always wanted her to be more than just his slave. Well, you can imagine how the story ends, right? She finally fells in love with him too and after she had to return to her people to provide his tribe getting killed by white soldiers, she was restless and longing for her Indian life ... so she returns to him.
Wonderful romantic movie !!! Makes you dream of being a captured white woman LOL ... at least when the Indian is that handsome !!! LOL
Michael has done a few good movies ... but most of them were made for TV and never got released on DVD ... so it´s not easy to get any of his movies. You sure know "Dance me outside" - he´s in that one ... he is still more into dancing and theatre ... but he was doing a great production with Chris Eyre and I will post more info on that in a few. So if you are interested in more info on "cute Michael #2" you need to be patient LOL but it´s worth waiting for it ;)

Hey Anne, I was off work sick yesterday so I decided to while away some time by watching the movie on youtube. I enjoyed it a lot. Did you notice that the person who uploaded the movie actually posted a link to a website about the true story behind the film? There are actually accounts written by both Anna and General Custer. Apparently, a number of things were changed for the movie adaptation (as they usually are). It says that both Sarah and Anna were "brutally attacked" when they were captured (which I assume to mean that they were raped), however Anna was actually captured by the Sioux before being traded to the Cheyenne, who already had Sarah. Anna was blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and fair-skinned. Also, Anna and Sarah's personalities were switched. Supposedly it was Anna who resisted who most resisted Indian life, which actually won the respect of the tribe (who admired bravery), and it was this that led Tokalah (who was also a chief) to propose to her. She was actually pregnant with his child when she was forced to return to her husband, but their son ended up dying at the age of 3. She then went on to have several more children with her husband before their marriage ended. Tokalah and Anna never got their happy ending either, as according to Custer's account, all of the chief's were killed when Anna was returned. Even sadder is the fact that Anna was shunned by society for having a native man's baby, and she eventually died in a mental asylum, no doubt driven mad by longing and being outcasted from society.
I almost wish I hadn't discovered all of that now, as it makes the movie that much more bittersweet.

the movie is a very romantiv version of the truth for this is what the people want to see ...
I start my new job this morning and I´m sooooooooooo nervous! Wish me luck!

I finally watched the video ;) Very romantic. I think I read a book with almost the same story (a woman kidnapped as a girl and brought to an indian tribe where she was raised as a part of them, her sister didn't have that luck) years ago.
Did you know that the movie is online on youtube by now?
