    Idea for a quest/RP project
Well I've had this idea. Since Nameless, the whole quest tree about Schwartzwald and Arunafeltz is complete.

So why not use this for somethin fun? Questing alone is boring. Not the first time, maybe, but after that you're basically grabbing the rewards and that's it.

My idea was, let's use this whole epic storyline as a background for a larger RP project. A group of young, inexperienced adventurers gatheres in Schwartzwald, looking for work. Soon they discover various things and before they know what's going on they get drawn into a long, dangerous adventure none of them would have imagined!

Think of classical singleplayer RPGs...the heroes follow a basic plot while fighting monsters, traveling the world, exploring their own backstories and all that stuff.

My idea is doing basically the same, just for the group, we create one with RO charas. We use relatively new, "fresh" charas without long backstories yet. So we can create the backstory during the adventure. Similar to a P&P. Although RO is pretty limited.

Some points I thought about so far:
    - As mentioned, charas with no large backstory yet. Young, inexperienced, clueless ^^. I'd say level 60 (minimum for said quests) to 70 (should be in share range). None of the quests above made yet. None-Rebirth preferred.
    - Rather light RP. Instead on playing freely and improvising, it's more about following the story, working together on the mission and everything.
    - However, each character *can* have a background, and we can explore it during play. No one have to, though.
    - Since there are some difficult and problematic parts during those quests (thanks, Gravity), I would take the additional role of a semi-gamemaster, to look for ways to solve problems, create some basic rules and keep the game running.
    - We'll need lots of patience. This is NOT supposed to be a quick run-through. Impossible to do in one rush, I'd suggest doing it step by step. Maybe 1-4 quests at a time or something like that. We should take our time ^^

Er, before I go into much more details, I wanted to ask if anyone is interested at all.

Sounds good, but every high level character (in fact EVERY char I have) already has a story, and regarding the level you need for these quests, I certainly won't get a new one high enough.

Interesting idea, but me too would say 60 ist to high to start.

Why not starting at the real beginning? Guess we all have a spare slot and we could begin our adventure in training ground. Starting as novices is so much fun, we will explore this world together and grow.
That would it make easier if someone misses one date, he would level this little bit exp alone till next meeting.
So we could all stay on the same level and share all the time.

There are so many quests to do as low chars also, we accompany us to changes and tutorials and so on.

We could choose one day for that - maybe thursday if we all are available - and have about 3 hours of adventure then

Me likes it and if we begin as novices it is more a group then beginning as a bunch of 60+ chars^^

If we realize it I am with you

That means I would have no time to play other chars, and I would feel forced to keep up with you. Sorry, but that's not fun at all ._.

The idea with the novices is not bad, problem ist, all my slots are full. So, no novis for me unless I delete someone.
The char I actually wanted to use when I came up with that idea was my gunny Dorothy, who is 48 now.

A compromise would be, starting at 40-50 and then do some leveling together first. Until everyone is at least 60, then we could start the questline.

@Manah: As mentioned, having a backstory is definately okay. We can work with that. It just shouldn't be too excessive or dominating, as the main storyline is supposed to come from the quests. It can, of course be possible to connect the character background to the quest story. For example, I planned to connect Dorothys past somehow to the clonesoldier research done at Reckenber (the one you find out about during Biological Weapon).

Doesn't have to, of course. It just wouldn't make much sense to have, for example, a char who already knows a lot about Reckenber or the Cult in Arunafeltz when the purpose of the questline is to find information about these things.

I don't know that much about your charstories, so I can't say if you have one we can work with...

Now it means sacrificing our thursday parties for it.... Sorry, it's all too planned and forced for me.

    Here.

Nali, the problem is that I will have to level this new char more than the others. Either we will have too many parties, or I miss them and have to keep up on my own. Both means I can't play my other chars the way I want.

And I don't really want to force this story upon one of my chars. I like to play freely (much as in real life where you don't plan such things). This is far too organized for my taste. Besides, my high chars have done some or even most of the quests already.

Finally, it would take a lot of time. That makes it hard to just make a party and go somewhere.

Sorry again, but now I don't like this idea at all anymore >.<

    It's okay, Manah ;)

It's true, this whole thing is supposed to run a little more organized than usual. I know you guys do a lot of free RP - and that is perfectly okay. What I wanted to do, however, is something different. See it as an alternative to your style of play.

If anyone is still interested in this project, well, you're welcome.

Just keep two things in mind, as I am really afraid they might happen:

    1. Don't let it it take up all time we have, I still need time to do something else with you (especially if I don't join).

    2. And please, please don't do it on thursdays. I really love our parties as they are.

    Nalina - 13.02.2009, 00:13

Uh, don't worry. I will not allow this to interfere with normal guild play. Maybe once per week...but definately NOT on thursday.

I think it's a good idea for me. I have no experience about RPG and never tried before I joined Stardust and I learned a bit from all of you. But, most of you are in German RPG, so I don't have chance to really join any of the real RPG party. I am so happy if we can start together, at least I can learn more again :). I don't mind to start with novice or level 50, just let me know what's the level needed to start. Only 3 of my chars are really have backstory, I can come with novice or my other existing chars.

    Nalina - 13.02.2009, 22:21

Okay, the whole thing will be in english, then. ^^

I found another one who would love to join, Rutana from VU. I think maybe 1-2 more people were fine. More than 5 would probably be too much.

I will work a bit on the concept and then post it ^^
It won't start too soon, so that everyone can prepare a char. Not set in stone yet, but expect something in this area:
    - Starting at 60-70. 50 is ok too, we'll level a bit together, then.
    - All 1st, 2nd and expanded jobs can join, not rebirth if possible.
    - Basic background, like town of origin, short biography etc.. More is optional.

I'm still interested, but I really can't write a description right now X_x

    Holiday - 22.04.2009, 23:46

I will go and get my char up to 50+, may take more than 10 days because of my wrist and fingers problem I can't play long or hard. But, I will play a bit each day ^^.

    Rutana - 31.05.2009, 11:13

I must confess, that I more or less lost my interest in the project. Please, don't be mad. It's just that the time got to long without anything happen... also my time is more spared atm as it was to the beginning.
For now, I'll say "bye" to the project. But maybe, if you're going to start and I'm still in range I'll change my mind, that's why I let Seishos Character-description online here.
I wish you much much fun with the project and a great success :)

Whole thing fizzled out after nothing happened for such a long time. Partially my fault, since I had so much different stuff on my head all the time, I apologize.

Well, sounded like a good idea at the time, but can't help it...

    Holiday - 01.06.2009, 20:54

Also because of my wrist needs a lot of resting, can't really stay in game for long. But I hope we can start again some times later, feel sorry about this too..........
