Re: Greetings Sagoners!
Lothlorian - 10.12.2004, 18:20Greetings Sagoners!
Hello Sagon! I am Lothlorian, and I think most of you know my name since I spoke to quite a few of you. Forgive me please for not talking to everyone, but a few of you I haven't been able to get in touch with.
This is my joining aplication for the Sagon. Below I will include information about myself, about my character, and my reasons for wanting to join you. I will also tell you the story that most of you heard the short version of from me in person.
About myself:
My real life name is Alexis, and I am a 17 year old male. I live in Uppsala, the fourth biggest city in Sweden (Population-wise). I study journalism in school, I am now in the middle of my second year. I like what I do quite a lot, since I have always had a passion for writing, both journalistic texts and novels. When I graduate I am planning to work my way though my university-studies, as a reporter.
In my sparetime I obviously play tibia. I am online averadgely five days of the week, and I browse the tibia.com forums daily.
I am also interested in politics and human- and animalrights, though I don't call myself an activist. I prefer talking in front of fighting, unlike most activists in Sweden.
I think that is about it about me personally. If you have any further questions, ask me here or in Tibia.
About my character:
My character name is Lothlorian, as you probably figured out by now. It is a female knight currently at level 75, .
The character Lothlorian has got a husband, Ishaan Le Grand of the Dark Omen. It also has a sister, Spedorina of the Mercenarys. It has a brother called Strike, a nepew called Dalai, and two nieces, Juvanda and Sahara.
I created this character two years and three months ago, in the middle of september of 2002. A real life friend of mine showed me Tibia, and I was stuck pretty fast. When I gained enough strenght to join a guild, I aplyed for the Knights of the Round Table. They told me my level was a bit too low, and that I should come back later. During my time as a too-low-level, I was in two other guilds. First the Avalanch, which the same friend that introduced me to tibia was running. After a while it got disbanned, and both me and him joined the Alliance of Might and Magic. It was led by a man called Runeflinger, a man I grew to like very much, he was one of my first role-models. He sadly retired a while later, and that guild too was disbanned. So I aplyed for the Knights of the Round Table again. I was accepted, and stayed in the guild for about 18 months (Read more about my time in the KRT below). The character Lothlorian was as I said earlier created by me and I have been in possesion of the character ever since. It has got no criminal record what so ever. However I do have a tutor-record for three bad name reports, I didn't fully understand the namerules when I reported the persons I got my record because of. To be honest I can still not to this day understand how it works since some characters that obviously violate the rules can keep their names and others that doesn't violate them at all get namelocked.
When I am online I like to chat with friends, explore areas I am not familiar with, and just goof around with my friends playing soccer or similar things. Another thing I like, is to hunt. I recently redicovered the joy of killing monsters. Both in a group trying real challanges, and just to kill a few dragons or hunters.
This is all about my character, and just as with my personal information, just ask if you want to know something else.
The path I walked to end up here in your forums, asking to be one of you:
It started about one and a half years ago, in february 2003 I think, when I joined the KRT. I became a novice of the KRT, just as everyone else who joined. I kept that position pretty long conciddering how fast one gets upranked in the KRT now. I was a novice for almost four months I think, if my memory doesn't fail me. The council told me it took so long because they were quite inactive, and that I would have been upranked faster if they would have had a meeting earlier than four months after I joined.
When I finaly did advance to full membership, it didn't take long before I was asked to join the council, as a diplomat. The last diplomat retired to do militay service, and I belive his name was Arnand a'Sante. I took the oportunity and assumed the little of diplomat. At first I was a little uncomfortable since it was my first (and only) time being a subleader of a guild. When I grew into my position I liked it a lot, and I started to work very hard. Time passed, and most of the councilmembers and regular members too, went inactive. It felt as if I was running the guild alone, it was quite a task for little me. I reminded people to pay the guildfee, did my diplomat duties, handled the mentor-system the KRT has, and I even recruited a few persons. I also executed the guildmeetings for a long time.
Now I started to feel as if I wanted to try something new, as if the KRT was no longer the place for me. I decided to leave, and I made a post about it at the KRT-forums. I told them I would stay for one week, so that they could find a replacement for me. After a guildmeeting one week later, I stood in the House of Recreation, (the guildhall of KRT) about to press the button "leave guild". But I couldn't. I was paralyzed, and I realized my love for the guild was too strong for me to leave. So I stayed, and everything went back to normal. I still did a lot of work in the council since the others were still pretty inactive. A short time after (might have been before, I am not sure) almost ten of our members left for a new guild, the Dark Omen. We felt that we had to do something, and we recruited a lot of new people. Things were finaly stabilizing when a few more people left, and we faced dark times again. The members that left were some of my best friends in the guild, and it suddenly felt as if my efforts were in vain, that my work was good for nothing.
I once again decided to leave the KRT, and this time I followed through with my plans. I made a post on the forums again, but I left right after posting, knowing history would repeat itself if I waited. Now I have been alone for some time, I am not sure but I think it has been somewhere between one and two months since I left. I started looking for a new guild almost right away, but I found none. When I was just about to give up hope, I bumped into Natures Lord and I came to think of the Sagon. I asked him after a few days of thinking if he thought I would have any chance at all to get in. His reply was that I might, if I was very lucky, but I should not get my hopes up. So I thought "Go for it!", and I started talking to you one on one, to make the concidderation of my aplication a little more fair. Since I spoke to most of you, you know a little more about me than what I write here, and I think that benefits both parts when it comes down to deciding my faith.
This was the story about how I ended up on your doorstep asking for company.
This is why I think I would fit in the Sagon:
Doron asked me this when I spoke to him in-game, and I replied something like this:
"Well, I want to be in a guild where friendship and trsut is prioritized. I don't want to be in a guild where new faces come and go every day, as if the guild I am in is only a place to rest on the way to something else. I want to have fun with my guildmates, I want our relationship to be built on mutual respect and trust."
I said something like that, and the reply I got was:
"Exactly! That is what the Sagon strive to be."
I can tell you, I flatter myself, but I don't concidder my chances to get in that high. But I promise you this: If you do accept me, I will prove to you that I am worthy to be one of you.
If you want to ask someone about me, there are some friends I thought I'd list here:
•Most of the old KRTs, who were already in the guild when I joined.
•Branwegen
•Nudiep
•Ishaan Le Grand
•Spedorina
•Tornado
•Xulodu
I also tried to think of some people that I have had arguments with, so that the statements about me wouldn't be all good ones, but to be honest I could only think of one, since I remember only one fight in my tibian life. The name of the man I argued with is Zoger I think. I am not sure it was him, this was very long ago, and the conflict was resolved without bloodshed.
I know it might seem stupid to put names of friends on a list and ask you to talk to them to get to know more about me, since they wont be very unbiased, but the choice is all yours.
This is all I have for you, I hope you concidder it a full aplication with all the information needed. If not, once again, ask me and I will tell you whatever you want to know ingame or here.
Signed:
- Lothlorian.
